Resident Evil is about fear ; that single, paralyzing emotion that is designed to prevent human beings from placing themselves in harm's way. Some view it as the original human defense mechanism, a thing to be embraced and heeded while others view it as a roadblock toward the pursuit of happiness.

I hate to say it, but I am of two minds when it comes to Resident Evil 5 . From a critical perspective, it's hard not to be disappointed in the fact that Capcom didn't fulfill the next-gen promise of running through a densely-populated hostile land seen in early trailers for the game.

The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions have better graphics than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. Though the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 both have better controls I think than the Sega Genesis Version.

That Resident Evil 5 has a lot to live up to goes without saying. Resi 4 was an unfettered masterpiece and a kick up the arse to a series that had comfortably shambled along like the decaying undead for far too long.

It may be hackneyed, past its sell-by date and a tad too over-reliant on its predecessor’s successes, but when RE5 remembers that it's Resident Evil and not, say, Gears of War, it’s nothing less than sublime.

‘Desperate Escapes' is another successful attempt at Capcom extending the gaming experience of Resident Evil 5. While some may favor the flavor of ‘Lost in Nightmares', ‘Desperate Escape' is a solid and intense piece of DLC to be enjoyed.
