Reolink Argus review

If you’re looking for a versatile security camera, the Argus is for you: it’s completely wire-free, can be used indoors and outdoors, and features an easy to use magnetic hinge for angle adjustment. It boasts high-quality 1080p HD video recording and live streaming capabilities, along with an advanced PIR motion detection system for fewer false positives. There’s no cloud storage, but there’s an optional microSD card slot for local storage of photos and videos. The only issue for some is the requirement of standard batteries, rather than including a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Besides, it only costs £99, making it a bargain and a great option for those looking to invest in smart security for the home.

Reolink Argus Review

The Reolink Argus ($99.99) is a versatile home security camera that lets you monitor the inside and outside of your home without having to run any wires. It sports a weatherproof enclosure and captures video at 1080p, and it runs on batteries so you don't have to worry about placing it near a power outlet. The camera records motion-triggered activity and stores it locally on a microSD card, but you have to supply your own media and it doesn't detect sound. Moreover, it doesn't interact with other smart home devices. Design and Features The pill-shaped Argus ( at Amazon) measures 3.5 by 2.2 by 2.0 inches (HWD) and has a white-and-black enclosure with an IP65 weatherproof rating that allows you place it out in the elements. The base is magnetic and attaches to a stand that you can place on a flat surface or bolt to a wall. The right side of the camera has a rubber gasket that protects the microSD Card slot and reset button behind it. There's no power jack because the camera is powe...

The Reolink Argus is an affordable indoor/outdoor security camera that is completely wireless.

Reasonably priced; Weatherproof; Easy to install; Motion detection; Local storage

Does not work with other smart home devices; Does not support IFTTT or voice commands; No sound detection; SD Card not included

Good security camera when paired with the solar panel

The main friction point with security cameras is the installation. This one wins out because it doesn't need a wired electric connection, and when paired with the solar panel is pretty much maintenance free. The app works fine and just needed some tweaking to stop being bombarded with notifications whenever there was movement detected. You can set hours of the day, per day, when it can and can't notify you of activity.

Easy to use app too it alerts you of movement and it is really clear quality video even far away. Easy to add multiple cameras so definitely going to order afew more and set them up around the house. Good value for money

Pros: Works well, decent variety of settings in the app, free cloud storage option, easy to use. Cons: sometimes wont connect properly when internet is poor (which is fault of internet), some parts of housing a bit flimsy, getting everything screwed in right and facing the right direction was a bit of a pain. Overall would recommend as a well priced easy to use security camera option. Very easy to set up with the solar panel.
