I can't say enough about my purchase. The P1 replaced my old Technics SL-BD20 and the upgrade not only provided a better player but it was like getting a whole new collection of records.

I closely compared the new Planar 1 with a Planar 2... maybe it was worth spending slightly more if it made that much difference My reference system consists of a Naim UnitiQute 2, Rega mini phono stage and B&W CM1s, and I tested the two 'tables on the same set-up. I listened long and hard...
The Planar 1 is the cheapest entry into the world of Rega. The legendary British turntable manufacturer has, in recent years, also revamped the Planar 3 and Planar 2 to great success, and this model is another ground-up rebuild, replacing the RP1.
Dynamic; detailed sound; Exceptional timing; Classy look and feel for the money
Fiddly speed changes
It is amazing. I had forgotten how good vinyl sounded, even stuff i bought 60 years ago. And the dealer Filtronique was amazing to deal with.
Loving the return to vinyl! I haven't used a turntable since the 80's so I wanted something simple - but also good and not too expensive - and this turntable rocks! Tony did a great deal for me on speakers and an amp too. I'll definitely be back!
This might be an entry-level turntable, but you’d never know it from a performance as good as this. It won’t offer all the bells and whistles of something like the Audio Technica AT-LP5, but if you’re looking for pure audio ability, the Planar 1 is hard to top. So much so, many might never feel the need to upgrade.
