Red Faction: Armageddon magnetizes Chris Watters in this video review.
Magnet gun inspires destructive creativity; Powerful arsenal and abilities; Destroying stuff is great fun; Extra modes offer more opportunities for mayhem
Bland story and characters; Underground environments can get repetitive
Good: A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.
Red Faction is a successful middleweight franchise that's built its reputation on doing one thing extremely well: the wholesale destruction of the world around you. Red Faction: Armageddon represents the fourth game in the Red Faction series, and it's interesting to see how far things have come. From first person, to third person. From destruction/manipulation of the environment to destruction/manipulation of objects and structures, from Parker to Mason.
I don't want to waste any time here, I'm just going to tell you that Red Faction: Armageddon is fun. No matter what else I say about the game, I want you to know that above all else I had fun from beginning to end, and that's what really matters.

bucked the first-person tradition of Volition's previous Red Faction and Red Faction 2 shooters by letting players loose in an open-world sandbox environment while pulling the camera view out to a third-person perspective.
Half a century after the Red Faction resistance and their Marauder allies freed Mars from the brutal Earth Defense Force, harmony on Mars is again threatened but this time by a lethal force shrouded in mystery.
To quote Quaid/Hauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from the excellent movie Total Recall " Get your ass to Mars ". These memorable words mirror my opinions about the latest Red Faction game, Armageddon which once again sees players returning to the red planet.
