Razer Leviathan

Razer has had some success in the gaming audio space, but it's mostly been with headsets. Home theater sound systems are another matter entirely. The Leviathan is Razer's first soundbar , and it's not like many soundbars we've tested.

Powerful sound for the size and price; Solid music performance; Wired subwoofer adds plenty of low-end kick; Bluetooth connectivity

No remote; Lacks high-end clarity to really make movies stand out as well as games

Razer Leviathan Review

If you were to tell us three years ago that Razer was going to make a Bluetooth speaker, we would have been interested, but now that we're inundated with Bluetooth speakers everywhere, it's pretty hard to get excited.

Supports a wide variety of audio inputs; lots of volume firepower; killer bass

Shuts off after 20 minutes of idle; no volume indicator

Razer equips the Leviathan with a whole range of current Dolby technologies. Outside of Dolby Digital we've also got ProLogic II. Dolby Virtual Speaker technology also helps simulate a decent surround sound experience.

Good workmanship; Optical connection; Subwoofer; Good equipment; Bluetooth + NFC; Dynamic sound

No real deep bass; Integrated propriety Subwoofer cable

Razer Leviathan 5.1 Channel Surround Sound...

Razer was kind enough to let us borrow their new sound bar, the Razer Leviathan 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Bar, for a couple weeks to evaluate its performance. Visually, the Leviathan looks like it could be found in a high-end home audio store.

Razer Leviathan 5.1 Surround Sound Bar Review

For years peripheral maker Razer has been pumping sound directly into our ears via gaming headsets. The Leviathan marks its first attempt at sharing that sound with the rest of the room, and a valiant first attempt at that.

Great soundbar for price!

I've been using this soubdbar for 2 weeks now and I have to say I'm impressed! It actually sounds a lot better than what I thought. As far as a 5.1 it is a little bit exaggerated... It sounds more like a 3.1 system.

Compact quality

Not having a remote, or even a I/R receiver, limits it's use to PC and small media devices. The corded sub isn't as cool for watching movies, where you want the bass behind you. This is a PC sound bar. (Had it hooked to TV because new toy.)

Nice and small for a sound bar with this much punch; Voices are clear and bright, bass is aggressive enough for some hard dance grooves; Multiple input options; Low enough to sit under large monitor bezels; Comes with 2 stickers! TWO

No remote control; Unable to control Razer volume from my TV; (6yr old Toshiba) Corded sub-woofer

great sound and a sleek design

A soundbar with lots of features, great sound and a sleek design. However, after only about a years worth of intermittent use the soundbar will only function for about 1-2 minutes before it powers off. Opened a support ticket with Razer and never heard back from them.

Great Soundbar but too costly

This is a great Soundbar overall, i replaced my Auddyssey Lower East Side Speakers with it and i have been very happy, the package comes with two sets of different foots to place the Soundbar at two different heights. Since the placement of my desktop i found the taller ones the best.

Great Sound; great connectivity options

Too bassy; not audiophile grade

Razer Leviathan review

Just when you think you really know a company, it goes and releases something completely out of left-field. Take Razer: historically, it's been a peddler of pointers and the king of keyboards. Just look at the venerable Razer BlackWidow Ultimate or Razer DeathAdder Chroma .
