Opto-Mechanical

Having used Cherry MX Blue's for years, my initial impression was that I hated the keys. They make a much more annoying high-pitched click, and are much lighter to actuate. However, having gotten used to it, the Opto-Mechanical switches really are a dream to use.

It's hard to imagine a better time to be in the market for a gaming keyboard than now. We're at the tail-end of both the ‘make-it-RGB' and ‘make-it-mechanical' trends, with consumers poised to reap the benefits.

Top-notch design and build quality; Opto-mechanical switches are hyper-tactile

Expensive; Key innovations aren't quite a game-changer

The office may hate me, but Razer's new Huntsman Elite keyboard feels so good to type on I'm willing to suffer the glares for all the noise I'm making. It feels a little silly saying that what with me having expensive keyboard collecting habit.

The opto-mechanical key switches are simply lovely

It looks like a nerdy greasy gamer keyboard

Worth the money

This is the best keyboard I have ever to used. The keys are sturdy and high quality. They feel amazing to key on and are very responsive. I can definitely tell a difference in key response time. The lighting looks amazing too, I really like the underglow. The wrist rest is very comfortable.

Keyboard works fine. Pretty good for gaming, keys feel nice to the touch and the media keys are super useful. However, the light bar on both the keyboard and the wrist-rest looks so warped it is incredibly annoying. Keyboard was rocking back and forth when it arrived but it's a bit better now.

Best keyboard I've used, period

The best mechanical keyboard on the market right now. Suitable for casual use and most importantly, for gaming. The wrist rest is a nice addition and feels really good; the keys sound and feel amazing and the RGB is... Well, RGB.

Razer Huntsman Elite gaming keyboard: "One of the best mechanical keyboards on the market"

Razer has continued to establish itself as a major player in the PC and peripherals space, turning out high quality, attractive product...

Opto-mechanical switches are some of the best I've ever tested; Tasteful and attractive lighting; Extremely comfortable magnetic wrist rest

Lacks USB passthrough or macros; Requires two USB ports for full lighting

Razer Huntsman Elite review: a good gaming keyboard that could've been great

Razer's Huntsman Elite is the company's first keyboard to use optical switches instead of the traditional mechanical switches it has been using for years. The idea is that by using light sensors inside each switch, as opposed to physical connections, the switches can be more responsive and faster.

This keyboard is beautiful. The media controls are perfect. The wrist rest feels luxurious. The laser keys are a neat addition to mechanical keyboards. So where does this product go wrong I have had several issues where the laser keys were sticking (!!!
