Razer Tiamat Elite 7.1 Surround Sound gaming headset

The futuristic styling of the Razer Tiamat Elite makes for a breath of fresh design air after the conservative - to the point of being boring - look of the Razer's Carcharias Professional PC gaming headset (review) .

Impressive volume; decent bass response; excellent audio quality; eye-catching design; comfortable to use over long periods

Not the most portable of headsets; and expensive

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 Analog Surround Sound Gaming Headset isn't new – in fact, it's been around for a year plus. However, the company had some problems keeping up with the demand that stocks were pretty limited for months. Anyway, we will see what the hype is all about.

Great Headset

Do not use with on board sound card with this headset, not very good sound quality at all. This is not due to the headset, it is due to the onboard sound cards themselves. Use a dedicated sound card for this headset!!

Great sound quality!! Bass is outstanding/Your 7.1 speakers plug into the volume device and literally press a button to switch in between the speakers and the headset; instead of plugging in and unplugging cords/ the volume for the headset speakers can be independently adjusted so if the side...

Sound quality for the mic is very good but the mic does seem a little cheaply made but if you don't use it keep it tucked in or if you do use it leave it pulled out; I believe if you are tucking it back into the headset a lot that is when it is likely to break

Razer Tiamat 7.1

There are lots of bad reviews for those, however I must say that after properly calibrating them through an equilizer the muddy, cheap sound becomes much much better. In 7.1 mode for playing music those are absolutely horrendous, however if you use bass redirection and set crossover frequency at...

- Strong bass, especially in games; good sound separation in supported games, well built and comfortable

- Requires lots of playing with an equilizer; terrible sound out of the box especially for music

Great buy for the price! 1 year review!

!!PRODUCT ADVISORY!! You do have to fine-tune the headset first in order to get full 3D sound. You can do this through your system sound settings for [headset] playback devices. This may take several attempts but will work fine after you find your proper settings.

Great sound in 7.1 (must tune first) or stereo

Has an okay mic but retractable mic boom is very flimsy; so be careful with it

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset

If you haven't spent your existence in a monastery, then you know the immense popularity gaming has earned in the past year. Sure, there were gamers even before then. But once technology evolved and its means of delivering better performance also evolved, games have become the next best thing to do...

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

The Razer Tiamat is a gaming headset of epic proportions. It comes in a humongous and thoroughly magnificent box, it is humongous itself and the name's borrowed from a middle-eastern dragon that represents the very essence of chaos.

These were a 3/5 at first. These are over ear headphones however I must have larger ears. The cups go around my ears just fine but the inside was pushing against the helix of my ear (the top hard part of the ear). That made these start hurting after about 10 minutes of use.

Razer Electra V2 Review: Budget Price, Budget Features

Some budget gaming headsets are better than others, but even among the good ones, there always seems to be something not quite up to snuff. The $60 Razer Electra V2 is a good example of this phenomenon. It's not too big, it fits comfortably and it works with PCs, consoles and mobile devices.

Sleek design; Removable mic; Versatile compatibility

Lackluster sound; Imperfect fit; Imprecise volume controls
