In summary, the game is extremely outdated. It's thirsty work playing this game and the sheer frustration with the game's mechanics will drive you to your own coffin. The characters are uninteresting with their extremely scripted uninspiring vocals, the missions are poorly thought out and it's just...

Nice cell-shading; Creating vampire puns for this review

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty

Ratchet and Clank have appeared in so many sequels since their eponymous 2002 debut that they've become the Cheech and Chong of videogames. One of gaming's great duos, once vital and relevant, is now on the verge of becoming tedious and glib.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

Quest for Booty is a $15 representative from a full priced, top tier franchise. It's an experiment in product delivery that I would love to see more developers embrace as in-betweens for their main line titles. In a way, I appreciated QfB more for what it represents than how it actually played.

Quest for Booty ratchets up the fun, but its strict adherence to the series' formula won't bring in new fans.

Even though the Ratchet and Clank series has stuck with the same formula for all six console games, each new release has brought a tweak that has made the experience feel unique. From upgradable weapons to motion controls, the series has seen a sprinkling of new ideas without messing with the basic...

Some of the most impressive visuals on the system; Extremely focused action; Great soundtrack; Excellent pacing; No lame minigames wasting your time

Captain Quark and Clank are missing; No arena missions; No incentive to play more than once

Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty Review

Unfortunately, the modest length -- a little over three hours -- makes the entire experience feel rather stunted. You just don't have time to get into the game before it's over. Nevertheless, what's there is funny, enjoyable, and most importantly, worth the price of admission.

The captivating plot; which is sure to have you laughing; The small yet noticeable wrench additions that keep the experience fresh; The beautiful graphics at a budget price point

The three hour length; The lack of weapon variety

Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty (PS3) - Review

In Fall 2007, the Ratchet and Clank series made its HD debut on the Playstation 3 in the form of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. The game was praised for its excellent weapon based combat and strong production values.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (PS3)

Last year's Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction brought some welcome colour and charm to the PS3's line-up, and proved that the long-running series was still fresh and relevant. With Quest for Booty, Insomniac gives the franchise the episodic treatment with a short but sweet downloadable sequel to...

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is the first episodic content from Insomniac Games in the hopes of filling the game between the ending sequences of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and the title's direct sequel, which is scheduled to release Fall of 2009.

With the advent of downloadable games from both Sony's and Microsoft's services, the most we expected to get out of publishers is a few simplistic games here and there. Never did any of us imagine we'd be getting deep and complete games such as Gran Turismo and Warhawk via a downloadable service.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

As is very apparent, Quest for Booty is short, but sweet. There are a few hidden things here and there, but not a ton of incentive to play through multiple times aside from just the sheer enjoyment.
