Rango Review

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were just a few inches tall Tiny enough that cracks in the desert seem like grand canyons, one-gallon milk cartons can be called homes, and one of your biggest threats is being smashed by a rolling cue ball.

Creative & detailed environments; Levels offer variety; Zombie killin'; Infinite ammo

Awkward camera angles; Lacks extras; More Rango; please

An oddball attitude, some decent variety, and a dip into the surreal spice up Rango's otherwise tame action.

Even in the whimsical world of animated movies, dusty frontier towns in the American West aren't a tropical chameleon's native habitat. So when a grandiloquent green lizard has managed to install himself as the sheriff of such a town, you know something is awry.

Weird characters and goofy sense of humor; Variety keeps action from getting stale; Surprising and delightful detour late in the game

Core action is simplistic; Not all aiming controls can be customized; Can be completed in five hours

Rango the Videogame

Hear me out. I know you might think I am delusional or a potential victim of Stockholm Syndrome, but I genuinely believe that videogames based on feature films are becoming better and (in my opinion) enjoyable. Don't believe me Give Rango the Videogame a shot.

Rango

Based on the early trailers, Rango didn't seem like much more than a CG vanity project from the director and lead actor behind the pain...

Varied; entertaining platform action; Great personality and humor; Some moments seem like a digital acid trip

It's $50 for a four-hour adventure; Platforming feels imprecise; Occasionally clunky presentation

Rango

Though Rango comes back to more predictable environs for the final level, the last sequence is downright harrowing. By ending on an adrenal high note, Rango leaves you with the surprising feeling that, despite the basic combat and uncomplicated platforming, this is a game you just enjoyed playing.

Rango: The Video Game Review

Chameleons live a tough life. Snakes, with their vicious venom and gaping jaws, slither around in search of the green lizards. Overhead birds threaten to swoop down and snag them for an afternoon snack.
