The last time we looked at a NAS from QNAP we left very impressed. The TS-451 was a quality product with some outstanding features. Today we take a look at a model with a slightly different design and some top notch specs, in our QNAP TS-453mini Review.

TS-453mini is a Fantastic Virtual Cloud & Multimedia Platform - and NAS!

This QNAP TS-453mini home multimedia center version of the QNAP TS-453 impressed us! The whole vertical design and quiet fan are fantastic, especially if you couple that with Enterprise or NAS quality drives that are also relatively quiet (not easy to find!

+ stable NAS + virtual storage support + volume encryption + VERY quiet fan + supports flexible mgmt of SSD cache + tool less disk bay replacement + upward and downward compatibility with other TS NAS + expansion cabinets (5 or 8 drive) available + public cloud access including admin without setting...

- SSD cache drive takes a full 3.5" bay - expansion chassis is expensive! - only takes up to 8GB memory - must be low power memory

This is an excellent product. It does exactly what it says. Compact and packed with future proof interfaces and features. Besides its RAID functionality I use Linux Station extensively and it works fine.

First Time Qnap Buyer

Wasnt sure what to expect with this purchase as we live too far from any dealer to see one before buying online. Unit is very plasticky in design and seems cheap but works as advertised. Being a Mac guy, this took a lot of research to set up properly. Not the plug and play system we thought it was.
