SWORD ART ONLINE: Hollow Realization Review – PlayStation 4

Ah it's good to be back in Ainc… I mean Ainground with the release of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for the PlayStation 4. Let it be known that that I am a big fan of Sword Art Online having read, watched and played all the previous media that's been put out for Sword Art Online over the past...

Positives + Fast paced but weighty combat + Beautiful visuals and audio + Plenty of skill customizations

Negatives; Tons of long conversations; Localization issues; Screen can get overloaded at times

Warming up...

Soccer is upon us. Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 has arrived, with FIFA trailing close behind. And, perhaps most visibly of all, the clattering circus of the soccer season itself--which both FIFA and PES must increasingly reflect and celebrate in order to stay relevant--has emerged from summer...

Gameplay is the best it's been in years; Player likenesses are superb; myClub has been knocked into decent shape

Individual team licensing highlights wider inauthenticity; Defending can be clumsy; Online is plagued with connection issues

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization

While 'Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization' is definitely a step up from its predecessors, it's still too rough around the edges to really appeal to anyone other than fans of the anime.

PES 2017 Review

With smarter AI opposition and an altogether smoother online experience, is close to the complete package. FIFA's new story mode might be the most headline-grabbing feature of either game this year, but it's clear Konami is in no mood to relinquish its title as king of the virtual pitch.

Skip it unless you're a diehard Sword Art Online fan.

Pretty scenery; tons of depth; captures the essence of an MMO

Boring to play; inane dialogue; uninteresting story and characters; simplistic combat; poorly explained mechanics; limited controls; unrewarding exploration

Review: Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization (Sony PlayStation 4)

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization takes place a while after Lost Song , though apparently they've decided to go back to a version of Aincrad instead of building a completely different world . (This time, Aincrad is on the ground, giving it the name Ainground.

PES 2017 is a remarkably good soccer sim on the pitch-so good that it makes up for the bulk of its shortcomings elsewhere. There's no denying that it's a niche sim with a high barrier to entry; but if realistic gameplay is your number one priority, then PES 2017 comes highly recommended. 4 /5

Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 Review

For now, the answer is PES 2016. 2017 is a great game, but it just doesn't feel so satisfying to play. Getting this year's edition will give you the most recent transfer updates, and for some that'll be all that matters, and in that case you should buy this game with a smile and enjoy yourself, but...
