good
Great Dungeons and Dragons lite elements brought to a Minecraft style world. Graphics are gorgeous and super smooth on PS4. Suitable for kids, with only mild peril, cartoon monster bashing and lots of gardening. Great fun for the whole family.
At first I wasn't really into this game. It just felt like it lacked polish, and maybe it does but now I cannot put it down! It would be hard to not mention influences this game borrows from but it's basically Minecraft with Dragon Quest Builders.
Every day I get more impressed at how many games have come out of Steam's early access program. Some have been giant disappointments while others such as Portal Knights, developed by Keen Games and published by 505 Games, do so well that they end up coming to consoles.
Positives + Very easy to get into; + Building stuff is fun once you get the hang of it
Negatives - Crafting could be more explanation; - Skills only drop from enemies, can't learn them
The character creation process is well thought out and allows you to build an avatar that should suit most needs when it comes to appearance. You choose a caste that you would like to be from warrior, archer, or spellcaster and battle your way through using the skills those bring.
I booted up Portal Knights with very little expectation. I had seen some screenshots that looked neat, and a bit of the trailer that promised some interesting combat, so I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. It was clear that there was definitely something worth checking out here.
Looks gorgeous; Brilliant soundtrack; Kid friendly
Boring; Weak Combat
With boring, repetitive combat, random crashes, lack of mission variety, ridiculous, Destiny level grinding, a poor GUI and no reward for explanation, I feel this game could have been better than it ended up.
Very good game if you like Minecraft and exploring ,just one note the servers and online mode is having online issues (21/5/27) PS4
It was a triumph
4 player co-op; Crafting options are extensive; Islands are bright and colourful
UI is a bit messy; Combat is a little awkward
If you're a Minecraft fan, and love crafting games, you're in for a treat. Portal Knights is a crafting and adventure game, with a very strong RPG vibe to it (more on that later).
