Nintendo Switch Review: Pokken Tournament DX

Pokken Tournament for the Wii U may not have set the fighting genre on fire (unless you were playing as Charizard) but it was still a great fighter, combining the characters of Pokemon with the classic fighting from Tekken.

"An accessible game that doesn't involve imprisoning the Pokémon in small spherical cells."

Game Review: Pokkén Tournament DX

Much like the original Splatoon , Pokkén Tournament was a game that I initially missed when it released for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2015. Unlike many of the flux of HD remasters we see crossover from last-gen to this generation, perhaps this common trend of ports make more sense coming over from...

Surprising deep gameplay experience; Caters well for hardcore and casual player base; Each Pokémon feels different from the last; Nice visuals considering it's a last gen port; Competent online experience (at least for now

Taking playable character count to 30 would have been great

The unholy lovechild of Tekken and Pokémon , Pokkén Tournament caused quite a stir when it was first announced, yet Bandai Namco's one-on-one fighter exceeded expectations when it eventually arrived on the Wii U last year following a successful run in arcades.

Pikachu, king of iron fist: Pokken Tournament Deluxe review

When it was released during the Wii U twilight year of 2016, Pokken Tournament was the fighting game nobody expected; Matt's review of the game was a positive one, with some criticisms aimed at the roster selection and leveling mechanics.

New characters and content add variety and depth to the existing roster; Accessible gameplay options for single and multiplayer; Game has updated visuals and runs smoothly in most modes

Story mode is still a bit weak; Split-screen multiplayer performs worse than usual

Beautiful game but....

I bought this game a month and a half ago and the graphics are gorgeous and the Pokémon move beautifully but I can't move past the fact that Nia (your guide) is annoying even if you cut her off, the "story" being told is lack luster, and voice acting is AWFUL.

The Pokemon Company shows you once again it's holding back.

Pokemon has a simple rinse and repeat method, it allows for low risk for continued reward. However, every once in a while the Pokemon Company makes something that reminds you that if they really wanted to they could make something astounding, but alas we do not live in a world where the advanced...

In my Daughters' Words " Awesome"

I did not play this game personally, but looking at my twin daughters' faces, I must say yes. It's a 5-star game.

Good game but got bored after I beat it.

So this games story mode was great. My friend and I were literally up all night fighting. Once I beat the game (few weeks after) it got a bit tedious. The online aspect was completely broken, but I've started playing again now it's fixed.
