Even though I consider myself a pretty big Pokemon fan – I've played every mainline game since Red and Blue and to this day can still sing the PokeRap (it's like riding a bike, honestly) – Pokken Tournament evaded me when it was originally launched on the Wii U.

Pokken Tournament for the Wii U may not have set the fighting genre on fire (unless you were playing as Charizard) but it was still a great fighter, combining the characters of Pokemon with the classic fighting from Tekken.

2016 marked the console debut of a crossover that many people had only dreamed of up until that point. That crossover was Pokkén. A very literal hybrid of both Pokémon and Tekken. Fans had been begging for a Pokémon fighting game for years, yearning for the chance to experience battles like the ones...

With the release and subsequent success of Nintendo Switch it's clear that Nintendo has their sights on the Wii U library to bolster this new console. We've already had one big port with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and now we're at it again with another Wii U title in Pokken Tournament DX.

Pokken Tournament is a very solid game. It has well refined mechanics that create a fun battling experience. The fact that each character feels unique and plays completely differently from any other given character helps to keep the matches feeling fresh and diverse, it also forces players to adapt...

I bought this game a month and a half ago and the graphics are gorgeous and the Pokémon move beautifully but I can't move past the fact that Nia (your guide) is annoying even if you cut her off, the "story" being told is lack luster, and voice acting is AWFUL.

If it's ur first time playing pokken, all these new features will make a great game for you, at least what the gameplay has shown.
