In my Daughters' Words " Awesome"

I did not play this game personally, but looking at my twin daughters' faces, I must say yes. It's a 5-star game.

Pokkén Tournament DX

When Pokkén Tournament originally launched for the Wii U it arguably didn't attract the wide audience it deserved. The surprisingly challenging yet approachable fighter combined the best qualities of turn-based Pocket Monster outings with the combos and brutal precision of something more akin to...

Plenty of fighters and stages to choose from; Brilliantly presented and runs great on Switch; Local multiplayer is a chaotic blast; Plenty of ways to customise your trainer

Single player campaign is far too simplistic; Lacking in truly compelling modes

Game Review: Pokkén Tournament DX

Much like the original Splatoon , Pokkén Tournament was a game that I initially missed when it released for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2015. Unlike many of the flux of HD remasters we see crossover from last-gen to this generation, perhaps this common trend of ports make more sense coming over from...

Surprising deep gameplay experience; Caters well for hardcore and casual player base; Each Pokémon feels different from the last; Nice visuals considering it's a last gen port; Competent online experience (at least for now

Taking playable character count to 30 would have been great

Pokkén Tournament DX review – super effective fighting

A Pokémon fighting game may not seem like the most obvious spin-off idea, but the end result is a surprisingly fun and inventive multiplayer game.

Accessible and relatively original combat system, that makes some good use of some of the weirder pokémon and has surprising depth; Decent graphics and excellent tutorials

The movement controls during phase shifting can be confusing; Story mode is very basic and the single-player in general is pretty formulaic

Pokkén Tournament DX Switch Review

Nintendo are keeping the momentum going with the Switch by smartly mixing up the release schedule with brand new games and enhanced ports of existing Wii U or indie titles to sustain a great catalogue.

The unholy lovechild of Tekken and Pokémon , Pokkén Tournament caused quite a stir when it was first announced, yet Bandai Namco's one-on-one fighter exceeded expectations when it eventually arrived on the Wii U last year following a successful run in arcades.

Good game but got bored after I beat it.

So this games story mode was great. My friend and I were literally up all night fighting. Once I beat the game (few weeks after) it got a bit tedious. The online aspect was completely broken, but I've started playing again now it's fixed.

Great Purchase

I bought this for my nephew's birthday on 11th February. He loves it and has played it every day since.

Pokkén Tournament DX Review – Crouching Scizor, Hidden Darkrai

Nintendo is dipping into the library of Wii U games and porting over a second game to their latest console the Nintendo Switch. This time around, Nintendo is bringing Pokkén Tournament back into the spotlight.

Decent sized roster (21; Local; Wireless and Online multiplayer

Story was dull; Ferrum League tournaments are too long and easy; Minimal additions from Wii U version

This game is great. If you already own it on the Wii U it's not worth it to pick it up for the minor changes I'm sure, but if you are looking for an easy to get into fighting game for the switch I recommend it.
