Plantronics Voyager Legend UC

Introduction:Several things make it clear that the Plantronics Voyager Legend UC is a premium Bluetooth headset aimed at business professionals and the most demanding of users. First of all, the device is designed like a high-grade precision instrument, thus giving its wearer a prominent “I am so important” look. Then there's the rich feature set, which includes convenient voice commands and multiple microphones for enhanced audio experience. It goes without saying that we have high hopes for this top-of-the-line product, so let's give it the review treatment and see what it has to impress us with!Upon opening the headset's retail box we're delighted to see that it comes with a broad variety of accessories, which are added to further justify the $200 price tag of the Plantronics Voyager Legend UC. There's also a non-UC variant of the headset, priced at a much more reasonable $100 yet missing some of the extras listed below, such as the Bluetooth USB adapter, the carrying case and the c...

The Plantronics Voyager Legend Review

On one hand you have tiny Bluetooth headset like the Moto Hint, which we've recently reviewed . With these types headsets it's all about style and portability. On the other end of the spectrum you have the much larger headsets like the Plantronics Voyager Legend , where it's all about long battery...

Plantronics Voyager Legend

The Plantronics Voyager Legend has an old-school look, and is bulkier than the Voyager Edge, but delivers much of the same performance. It's easy to use, too, except when it comes time for charging thanks to its too short, proprietary cable.
Pros:
  • Excellent performance
  • Blocks out background noise
  • Easy to use
Cons:
  • Bulky
  • Short
  • proprietary charging cable
  • Older
  • more obtrusive design

Great headset, bluetooth OR wireless does both

Works well, case has charger ... also has usb chargers. Very solid piece of well made equipment. Don't worry so much about the size of the earpiece. It's comfortable and works well.

Review: Plantronics Voyager Pro Bluetooth Headset

If you don't mind looking like an extra in a 1-800-Dentist commercial and have no reservations about looking like a crazy person yammering to yourself, the Plantronics Voyager Pro may be the perfect Bluetooth headset for you. This headset is big, bulky and (surprise, surprise) silly looking.
Pros:
  • Easy to use
  • Super sound quality
  • Stays attached to your ear
  • You will look like a telephone operator from the '50s
Cons:
  • You will look like a telephone operator from the '50s

Plantronics Voyager Legend UC Review

The included UC receiver makes this version of the Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth headset better than ever, although you'll pay for the privilege. The Plantronics Voyager Legend UC ($199.95 direct) Bluetooth headset is a deluxe version of the standard Voyager Legend, which is one of our favorite models. But in addition to working over Bluetooth, the UC version comes with a tiny USB-compatible receiver for hooking up to a PC or Mac for use with Skype, Avaya, IBM, and other UC standard VoIP clients. It's a good choice if you make a lot of VoIP and cellular calls from your desk, and prefer a wireless, mono headset to something like the Plantronics Blackwire 720, which offers a more traditional stereo headset fit and a wired USB connector. That said, the Voyager Legend UC's price gives us pause, the same way the two-year-old Voyager Pro UC did; the included accessories, while useful, shouldn't double the price. Note that there's also a separate B235-M version of this product; that one is Microsoft-certified and optimized for use with Microsoft Lync 2010 and Microsoft OCS 2007 only. This review focuses on the standard Voyager Le...
Pros:
  • Clear, crisp voice quality
  • Comfortable for a Bluetooth headset
  • UC receiver adds VoIP compatibility for extra flexibility
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Headset is larger than your typical model
