Great bang for the buck

If you are going pro, Nikon or Canon probably are better choices. Pentax lenses are limited and are more expensive. I bought 2 prime lenses (50/1.8 and 35/2.4), they are both very sharp, but the autofocus is not ultrasound. (slow and noisy). They are completely plastic.

1; Great bang for the buck! ($600 for 2 weather-sealed lens, weather-sealed camera body, 1 external flash, a card and a bag) 2; Image quality is very good 3; Good ergonomics, easy-to-navigate menu system; The green button to reset exposure compensation is really nice; 4.

None for the price

Hands-On Review: Pentax K-50

The Pentax K-50 is uniquely weather-sealed and sits at a nice price without sacrificing image quality. The design is excellent and comfortable, performance is on track and image quality is quite good.

This is a quality camera package at a competitive price. As with all DSLR's you have to experiment with exposure settings as each brand has its own preferences which may be considered to be slightly under or over exposed dependant upon your point of view.

I loved the camera body, the features are amazing and too many to list buy this over other brands and it`s weather proof to boot. con 1 : The focus on the lens did not seem right, i tried to adjust it in the setting but could see no difference, hopefully it was a bad lens and the other will be fine.

Pentax K-50 review: A decent entry-level DSLR that braves the elements

The Pentax K-50 has a lot to like, with its tank-like, sturdy design and plethora of settings and controls. But color reproduction and noise levels at high ISOs make images a mixed bag.

Weather sealing to protect against exposure to the elements (water; dust; Speedy (albeit text-based) menu navigation

Images are very noisy after ISO 800; Colors appear oversaturated and inaccurate at default settings

Pentax K-50 review: A decent entry-level DSLR that braves the elements

A year since its release, Ricoh Imaging's Pentax K-50 still touts something that no other consumer grade entry-level SLR camera offers: weather sealing. While it's not enough protection to save you if you dunk the camera in a pool, this sealing should give you peace of mind while using the camera in...

Pentax K-50

I recently bought the Pentax K-50 and I must say this is an absolutely superb camera. you get the Kit along with the DA L 18-55 weather sealed lenses, and you have the option to use Li-ion batteries or standard AA rechargables with an additional battery holder accessory.

Best in class!

Thank goodness research kept me out of the Canon/Nikon popularity contest. The performance of this beautiful piece of equipment outshines them both &

Surprising Performance (to occasional user)

I bought my first Digital SLR about seven years ago after using it's film version happily for about seven years. It died after two years so I bought a high-end digital point and shoot camera instead that served me fairly well most of the time although limitations of the autofocus (no manual mode...

Very fast and accurate autofocus in spot mode; smooth, low noise shutter action. Automatic capture mode has so far easily handled all the subjects and situations I have tried it on, even ones that didn't work with for previous cameras I have used.

A little too small for my large hands but I think I will get used to using it
