Wow, this is a camera! I will spend many moons learning about all it's features. Image quality is superb. With Pentax in general, I can buy the necessary lenses without having to get rid of them if I upgrade the camera. That was my primary reason for buying a Pentax.

There was a time when Pentax SLRs were proudly worn round their owners' necks. Now-legendary models, such as the Pentax K1000, Spotmatic and ME Super, were the cameras of choice for enthusiast photographers, which made the Pentax brand one of the biggest in the industry.

I loved the camera body, the features are amazing and too many to list buy this over other brands and it`s weather proof to boot. con 1 : The focus on the lens did not seem right, i tried to adjust it in the setting but could see no difference, hopefully it was a bad lens and the other will be fine.

If you are going pro, Nikon or Canon probably are better choices. Pentax lenses are limited and are more expensive. I bought 2 prime lenses (50/1.8 and 35/2.4), they are both very sharp, but the autofocus is not ultrasound. (slow and noisy). They are completely plastic.

The Pentax K50 is a solid, satisfying camera, its sensor is capable of excellent results but it is still lacking a bit in terms of focus speed.

The Pentax K-50 has a lot to like, with its tank-like, sturdy design and plethora of settings and controls. But color reproduction and noise levels at high ISOs make images a mixed bag.

Images are very noisy after ISO 800; Colors appear oversaturated and inaccurate at default settings

This is a quality camera package at a competitive price. As with all DSLR's you have to experiment with exposure settings as each brand has its own preferences which may be considered to be slightly under or over exposed dependant upon your point of view.

A year since its release, Ricoh Imaging's Pentax K-50 still touts something that no other consumer grade entry-level SLR camera offers: weather sealing. Amazing camera. I just love this camera. The so many functions and so easy to use (please read manual). You can also set specific buttons as your your favourite settings that you would like to keep which helps a lot during photography. The colour and hsarpness is very good.

Thank goodness research kept me out of the Canon/Nikon popularity contest. The performance of this beautiful piece of equipment outshines them both &
