Payday 2 may look a little like its Left 4 Dead-inspired predecessor when viewed from afar, but there's a pleasingly improved if familiar experience waiting under the franchise's new mask. Before, we were working with rookies who approached every heist with guns blazing.

DUE to lag, and crashing issues the game is unplayable at this point. UK has already released a patch that did almost nothing, and I hold little hope that they will be able to patch out the massive amount of issues with the PC version of this game.

alright i picked up this game yesterday and only paid $39 which is very unusual seeing how this is a brand new game, so i thought that it must be a bad game or something that it is so cheap...

[Update] The servers for Payday 2 have been updated since its release, making it now possible to play with randoms in a public match. So, anyone waiting to be able to play this game online, should stop waiting and go get it.

Payday: The Heist was one of the breakout titles on PSN when it released. It offered a deep progression system with gameplay that differed from the norm of first-person shooters. It focused on heists and robberies where the cops were the enemy.

Payday: The Heist was the first game to really capture the feeling of a daring bank raid, but was quickly met with comparisons with Left 4 Dead, thanks to its horde-slaughtering gameplay.

I'm having tons of fun playing Payday 2 and some memorable memories of heists gone wrong have been created that I will never forget. The game does a lot of things to improve on the original but has certain flaws that keep it from being a must-play.

Amazing co-op experience; Dynamically changing heists; Stealth

Questionable AI; bad single-player execution; Annoying loot system; Difficulty purchasing much-needed attachments

In crime, as in game development, things don't always go as planned. A suspicious passerby might call the cops in early, and then those cops might phase through a wall. The loot you expect to find might not be there, and the end-of-heist reward you're hoping for might never arrive.

Captures the drama and satisfaction of daring heists; New skills enable new tactics; Element of randomness keeps you on your toes

Some randomness is due to bugs; Reward pipeline is problematic; Friendly AI is all but useless

Great: Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding it back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.
