I have been anxiously awaiting my GH4 camera and it finally arrived today. I've been reading and studying about these cameras for weeks now, and I will give updates after I get a chance to shoot some photos and videos.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3, the predecessor of the Lumix DMC-GH4, was a popular micro four thirds camera among videographers and bloggers in particular, thanks to its class-leading video-recording capabilities; it was even the camera of choice for AP's own videographer for some time.

Back in 2008 Panasonic released the world's first CSC, the LUMIX G1. Six years on, the Japanese-based manufacturer has demonstrated it's still driving the CSC market forward with its new flagship model, the GH4.

Panasonic's new Lumix G Series camera is the DMC-GH4, and it packs features that make it more than just a camera for still photographs. It's presented as a 'hybrid' model, meaning it can be used just as effectively for video (in particular, 4K video) in addition to regular photography.

Panasonic Lumix G cameras already sit a notch above other compact system cameras (CSCs) and SLRs for video picture quality. The GH4 is the latest addition to the range, and from the outside it's hard to distinguish from the GH3 .

This is the best camera for video that you can get at this price range. The panasonic G7 is similar and cheaper however is less practical as a video camera, no high bitrate 1080, no V-Log, no weather sealing, no headphone jack.
