I'm more than a little impressed

I've been shooting for a few years now. I don't earn my income from photography, but I have been paid, published, etc. I had been wanting to move away from my current system because of customer service issues when a warranty came up, but changing camera systems isn't easy when you already have...

Compact; Convenient; Cost of quality lenses; Easy to use; Exceeded expectations; Image Quality; Inexpensive

Button Placement on the Grip; High ISO noise

I was using G80 before. But I was wanting smaller camera with tiltable (not fully articulated) LCD screen. So I bought new GX9. Here is my conclusion on GX9 in comparison with my G80. 1) Electronic viewfinder disappointed me. It is almost unusable - can't adjust to get good, focused image.

Pricey but useful

It was universally lamented with the GX9 that the excellent viewfinder of the GX8 had been lost. This is not a miracle cure for that but it certainly helps. It's usable with glasses but I suspect would really come into its own without them. It fits well and there is a useful security string.

Superb micro 4/3rds Camera

I've had this camera for a week now and it is superb, images are very sharp. I have been using the 14-140 lens from any earlier purchase. Positives: No low pass filter which gives sharper images; not seen any sign of moire patterning. The improved stabilisation seems to be working very well.

Excellent 4/3 design

Just received a few days ago and put it though about 150 pictures and some video recording. The control layout is far better than my GX85 that it is replacing, and the picture and video quality is really good for an M4/3 camera - with the same lens, it is indistinguishable from my G9's pictures.

Lumix GX9

A great little camera, ideal if you are into street photography as it is small enough to be carried in a pocket.Much better image quality than a mobile phone and the lens is interchangeable. At the time of purchase the price charged was unbeatable by any other seller.Very pleased with this purchase.

Panasonic Lumix GX9

The Panasonic Lumix GX9 is billed by the company as a premium street photography camera. It slots into the range alongside the GX8 and GX80, replacing neither of these models. It's most readily compared to the GX80 and any new features mentioned in this review are generally against this camera.

Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera (review)

One of the promises of mirrorless cameras was, well, smaller cameras. And, yes, the premium models (see here and here ) from the Panasonic Lumix G Series are a little smaller than many DSLRs. But the Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 is the one that combines high quality and compactness.

Compact quality; the ability to use fancier lenses; a wealth of advanced features including focus stacking and pre-burst

Slow photo transfer speeds

Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9

The GX9 has only just been released in Australia yet already, local online re-sellers have begun to discount. Listed on-line prices range from AU$1198 and AU$1300 with the 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.

Before we really get into the Lumix DC-GX9, let's establish where it sits in Panasonic's lineup. Back in 2013, the GX7 pioneered the tilting EVF. Then Panasonic took the series upmarket with the GX8, and introduced a new lower-tier GX85 / GX80 / GX7 Mark II to go with it.

Street photographers; travel photographers who don't mind carrying an extra battery with them; enthusiasts that enjoy abundant controls and those who want great JPEGs right out of the camera

Hardcore landscape and sports shooters that may need greater dynamic range; resolution and burst speeds
