Poor internet performance

It all seemed to work but the wired network was very poor. I tested the Ethernet on my Virgin TiVo and that was fine. The symptoms include a long start up of iPlayer, buffering and freezing. The menu system didn't seem straight forward and a bit clunky. There are very limited apps available.

Great apart from one thing

It's a blu ray/DVD player and it plays them well, no complaints. The only issue is the 'smart feature' it needs a wired connection and doesn't have a wireless option. You can buy smart TV boxes for a few quid that are wireless so it's disappointing as I don't fancy trailing wires all over the place...

Panasonic Player

This Blu-Ray/DVD/other formats player is easy to use and good value at its price.

Panasonic DMP-BD84

The Panasonic DMP-BD84EB-K smart network Blu-Ray disc player is a very basic entry-level player. It includes ethernet connectivity with simple Smart TV functionality (Netflix, YouTube and a few other apps), but no Wi-Fi support. It's super-compact, but over-priced at launch.

Didn't last one month

Crashes every time you watch more than one episode on Netflix. You have to turn it off at the power and cross your fingers that it will turn back on. Usually takes 5 frustrating minutes. Don't waste your money.

Unsatisfactory Blu-Ray Plaer

This product was a complete waste of money. It will play purchased Blu-Ray discs satisfactorily, but would not work properly with my home burnt Blu-Ray discs. The problem was although it would play computer discs quite well, the fast forward would not work. This means that if I wanted to see something at the end of the disc, I would have to wait 2 hours for the player to reach the end. This is totally unacceptable. This came as a surprise as I have found Panasonic Blu-Ray Recorders play all my discs satisfactorily. Soon after this purchase I bought a Sony BDP-S3500 Blu-Ray player, and I am pleased to say that this worked well. So to sum up, this Panasonic product may be quite adequate if only used for playing purchased commercial discs, but for playing computer generated discs a Sony Blu-Ray player appears to be a much better choice.
