I had a 15 year old TXDS 898 that had the 4 ohm setting option for the speakers. I am currently using 4 ohm speakers for the front channels. Wish the new ones would have this option as well. Clicking sound while watching movies is distracting. Remote does not glow in the dark.
I purchased the Onkyo TX-RZ810 to replace an Onkyo TX-NR838. I've only had this for a few days now but it seems like a step down so far in regards to sound quality and build compared to the 838. It was easy to setup and get going though.
Unlike an 8+ year old Onkyo receiver I had, this one has only a fixed set of assignable input slots. For every non-HDMI thing you add, one HDMI input becomes unusable. You can't fill all HDMI slots, all analog and digital audio slots and component video slots and have easy access it all.
Great audio output. Auto calibration sets it right plus you can manual tweak to your liking. Can't beat the price which includes two zone HDMI output. Don't need to rent another cable box. Just use this 2nd video output and reroute it to another TV. Integrates well with my LG OLED and the ARC.
Auto calibration to setup the speakers. Two zone audio with HDMI video. Intuitive menu layout. Seamless hook up to TV and ARC works well
None so far
Wow...where do I start. Excellent rcvr for me as I was replacing legacy system and bringing my A/V needs into this century. Once I got it all figured out (required manual reading - LOLOL), system engaged flawlessly and I really appreciate adaptability of this hardware.
