A great single disc player, durability to be determined.

I purchased this because I had a stack of CD's and no way to play them except through the blue ray player in my living room. I built a budget stereo system in my office, and this component rounded it out. The D/A converter makes the music sound good. It is a pretty basic system.

Fantastic Value

I agree with all other reviews that the sound is fantastic, the unit is well built, and the cost is unbelievably low for what you get. No wonder it quickly sells out wherever it is available. Onkyo certainly hit a grand slam home run with this effort.

Clear Sound; Easy To Set Up; Good Remote

Onkyo?C-7030

I've had the C-7030 for a month or two. I like it, but i haven't heard real high-end players. I have to admit though, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't sound that much better than my old Pioneer PD-4550 (which more than likely was a BOTL model back in the day).

Great lil bargain cdp

When I first started using this cdp, wasn't quite sure of it's sound quality. Had been using a Marantz BD7004 for cds & this player sounded "muddled" & not quite as bright as the Marantz. After tweaking my system some, this player has warmed up over time with use.

ease of use; sound; size; price

Brilliant piece of kit

I bought this two weeks ago and have it teamed up with the Onkyo A90-10 Amp. After demoing the Marantz cd6006 which I found far to bright, I opted for the Onkyo. Lovely warm sound and just as responsive as any cd player I have had in the past. For the price you will not find better.

Save some money and go with this one!

Purchased to connect to my Onkyo TX-RZ820 receiver. The design matches so they both look great in my cabinet. Currently I have both the coaxial digital and optical cables connected to see if I could tell a difference switching between sources.

Very well built unit that effortlessly plays discs; It has a surprising amount of weight to it due to the heavy transformer and frame; Plus it sounds great and looks great with matching Onkyo receiver

Not a big fan of the remote; I think a smaller one would have been better since it has a lot of unused space; Works fine though

Excellent value

I am not an expert of music but I do enjoy listening to a variety of genres. This player is a great value, the audio is clear, accurate and pleasant. Currently it is connected to an Onkyo TX NR515 AV receiver as I search for an integrated audio amplifier.

Great Sound

Onkyo C-7030

Easy to find the faults in this piece, but again, I would venture to say that $179 could not possibly buy a better player. It's just not audiophile quality, at least without some modifications to help the musicality. I hear Onkyo is going to release a higher end model of this.

The best stand alone CD player that you can buy (that I know of) for well under $200; That statement should get it 5 stars; Should buy cables as good as you can afford to use with it

Perfect example of a CD player with exceptional DACs, but not so good output circuitry; Nice case, features, remote, can find no flaws in functionality or layout; However, even though it does a good job of giving you what is on the CD, the overall sound is tinny, thin midrange and not much punch in...
