Omerta - City of Gangsters

In recap, Omerta is a poor attempt at making a turn based mafia game and this is truly a shame, it looked like it could have been so much more. The idea is quite novel, Omerta though was poorly executed and has left the door open for someone else to come along, use the same idea, refine it and...

Can be fun picking henchman to carry out your tasks..

Game is poorly executed..; Combat system is terrible..; Game lacks any atmosphere..

Omerta: City of Gangsters

In the years following World War I, Prohibition turned alcohol into a forbidden elixir that fueled countless criminal enterprises. Omerta embraces this seedy life, making you a young Mafioso fresh off the boat from Sicily, eager to carve off a piece of that action.

+ 28 different businesses to build and supply; decent multiplayer

Omerta: City of Gangsters review

In the beginning of Omerta: City of Gangsters, players pick a name, look, and history for their avatar--a would-be mafia boss who means to come to the United States and live out the American dream. In this case, that dream is to forge a Mafioso empire.

Occasionally almost feeling like The Godfather; Imagining the possibilities of this concept in defter hands; Matching squad members to the missions

Simplistic resource management and strategy; Awkward; confusing combat; Dry; easily-ignored plotline

Omerta: City of Gangsters Review

The creators of Tropico attempt to mob it up, but does it retain the same quality? Our full review.

+ Cool premise; + Lots of great ideas

Problematic camera; Boring management; Combat is abysmal; Presentation falls flat

Omerta: City of Gangsters

Bland, boring, and turgid to the last - look to Tropico 4 for a fine example of micromanagement, or instead XCOM Enemy Unknown for turn-based kicks: Omerta: City of Gangsters deserves to be thrown in a trunk and taken "someplace up state.

Omerta: City of Gangsters

I'm usually forgiving of a few glitches here and there, but there's no excuse for the non-stop audio problems. Someone knew they were putting out a shoddy product and did it anyway.

Omerta: City of Gangsters

Mediocre: An exercise in apathy, neither Solid nor Liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh,' really.

Omerta: City of Gangsters review

Set in 1920's America, Omerta: City of Gangsters is one of those strange titles that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. Containing both RTS and turn based combat elements, both work together quite well in the games main mode.

Good use of two genres; Very good soundtrack

Navigating the map is difficult; Decisions don't effect the game world enough

A few hours of fun.

Not a bad game, but not quite as expected. I played through it once, and admittedly it was quite entertaining, but i can't imagine i'd play it again.
