SuperZoom; but laggy software and noisy images
I had high hopes waiting for the SH-50 to arrive; I am a big fan of the Canon PowerShot SX280 which is a similar superzoom format camera. The reasons for my high hopes are that the lens is fractionally quicker and the zoom is 20% longer.

I purchased this camera as a point and shoot alternative to my Canon SLR. I wanted a small camera with big zoom that could take sharp images and could record decent video. What sold me on it is the new Olympus 5-axis image stabilization.

Olympus Stylus SH-50 Review
Olympus had anonunced the SH-50, its first point-and-shoot with 5-axis image stabilisation for video, earlier this year. Considering the SH-50 is a travel zoom compact camera, we were really curious to know how the image stabilisation would work at the telephoto end.

[REVIEW-OLYMPUS STYLUS SH-50compact camera]
This 16mp compact camera has a 25–600mm (film equivalent) lens with dual image stabilisation for stills and multi axis stabilisation for movies. The attractive body with metal and (faux) leather touches feels solid and comfortable.

Olympus SH-50MR
In early 2013 Olympus announced the SH-50 iHS, "a new premium, compact long zoom camera" with a host of impressive features trickled down from their flagship Micro Four Thirds cameras (like the OM-D E-M5).
