Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III review

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II embodied everything a mirrorless camera should be: a high-quality camera that feels great in the hand, offers an extensive feature set with bags of control, and produces great images, yet doesn't take up much space in your bag.

Premium finish; Excellent EVF; Compact proportions; Effective IS system

16MP starting to look a little dated; Minor update to the Mark II; Focus-tracking could be better

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III review

Our favourite travel camera gets 4K video and more...

Now with 4K video; 5-axis in-camera stabilisation; Powerful features in a small body

No 20MP sensor yet; Harsh JPEG sharpening; Small changes over Mark II

Olympus E-M10 Mark III Mirrorless Camera with 14-42mm EZ Lens Silver OM-D E-M10 MARK III SLV review

With the OM-D E-M10 Mark III, Olympus has made a camera that’s more interesting than it at first looks. The specifications and feature set may not have changed all that much compared to its predecessor, but the overhaul of its interface should make it much more approachable for novice users.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III

Olympus continues to improve its entry-level OM-D cameras and, although the improvements in the E-M10 Mark III are relatively minor, it remains a very attractive camera for photographers who want to expand an existing Olympus OM-D or PEN-based system.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III Review

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III looks like a subtle update to the E-M10 Mark II , however, it adds 4K video, and makes using some of the modes easier, with a new, more user friendly interface.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III is a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens, based on the Micro Four Thirds standard. It's designed for budding photographers who want to take a step up from their smartphone camera.

Attractive retro design; Compact body; Excellent JPEG image quality with lovely colour rendition; Superb in-body image stabilisation works with every lens; Fast; accurate autofocus with static subjects

Over-simplified in-camera raw conversion; Less reliable autofocus with moving subjects; Sensor dated compared to APS-C competitors

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III is a new mid-range compact system camera. The E-M10 Mark III has a 5-axis image stabilisation system equivalent to 4 steps of shutter speed, 16-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, 4K video capture (30p, 25p or 24p) and the latest TruePic VIII processing unit (as used...

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III review: Ideal for amateurs

If you're seeking a good-looking interchangeable lens mirrorless camera that can capture great shots in reasonable lighting conditions, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III does a great job. We took it out on a number of fishing trips, a week-long holiday, and it was a great fit in a small travel bag.

Great retro style; Autofocus improvements; Decent image quality; Lots of Micro Four thirds lenses to access and grow into your photography; 4K video capture

A modest update over the Mark II model; Still no 20MP sensor; Plastic top/bottom plates; Complex menu system is tricky to navigate; No mic/headphones ports

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III Review

The E-M10 Mark III offers casual shooters a modern camera with a classic design.

Decent 16MP images; Five-axis internal stabilization; Compact; lightweight; Built-in EVF

Same sensor as E-M10 Mark II; Autofocus isn't great for moving subjects; Image quality lags behind APS-C peers

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III doesn't have a lot of head-turning new features-the addition of 4K video is the biggest upgrade. Other changes-improved ergonomics, faster processing and focus, and better results when shooting in automatic mode-are smaller, but they are there.

Compact, solid design; Built-in EVF and flash; Tilting touch LCD; 8.8fps burst shooting; In-body stabilization; Raw and JPG capture; In-camera art filters; Wi-Fi

16MP sensor seems dated; Tracking focus slows speed to 4fps; 4K video not easily accessible; No Bluetooth or NFC
