Olympus E-M10 II

Sporting an incredible amount of features in a professional-grade body with excellent image quality for its class, the Olympus E-M10 II is the best "all-around" entry-level camera we've yet reviewed.

Excellent value for the money; Professional-grade ergonomics; Incredibly good image quality for its class; Solid performance specs across the board; Loaded with features

Kit lens may not be quite as sharp as previous kit lens from this line; Below average battery life; Somewhat confusing menu systems

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II review

There's a lot to like about all the cameras in the Olympus OM-D range, and the E-M10 Mark II is a nifty little number which has a satisfying amount of specs for your dosh. If you're a pro you might be swayed towards the more expensive E-M5 Mark II, or the E-M1, but the E-M10 II also makes for a...

Nimble build; Great photos; Well-priced

Not for selfie fans; Not ideal for one-handed use

Very pleased!

My first impressions are very good indeed. The camera and lenses arrived the next day after ordering, extremely well packaged, no chance of being damaged in transit. UK digital included a 5-year warranty which seems to be fantastic, hopefully I won't need to put it to the test.

extremely good value

This camera is marketed as being for beginners to mirrorless/slr photography and I would certainly agree that it meets this. The quality, look and feel of the camera is exactly what you would expect from Olympus- outstanding.

Mirrorless cameras promise DSLR quality, features and controls in a smaller package, and the OM-D E-M10 is one of the smallest cameras to still deliver that DSLR feel.

Small size; Excellent EVF; Versatile and lots of customisation options

Comparatively small sensor; 4K timelapse at 5fps playback; Tilting rather than vari-angle screen

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II review

Mirrorless cameras promise DSLR quality, features and controls in a smaller package, and the OM-D E-M10 is one of the smallest cameras to still deliver that DSLR feel. I'm a fan of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 and I've used it on a frequent basis since its launch in January 2014 because, as well as being...

Olympus OM-D E-M10 II review

16.1-million-pixel, Four Thirds sensor ISO 100-25,600 (extended) 5-axis image stabilisation 8.5fps-burst shooting mode 2.36-million-dot EVF 3in, 1.04-million-dot LCD Full HD video recording Built-in Wi-Fi £550 (body only) It's hard to believe that Olympus's digital revival of its OM system hasn't...

Compact and well-built body; Effective image-stabilisation system; Large and detailed EVF

Noise and noise-reduction artefacts; Easy to knock command dials out of position; Mediocre kit-lens performance

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II

After updating its original OM-D E-M5 in February, Olympus has now tackled the entry-level model with the release of the OM-D E-M10 Mark II. It has the same 16-megapixel sensor and TruePic VII processor as the original model but boasts an improved body design, expanded movie capabilities and similar...
