Olympus really wants to attract sports photographers with OM-D E-M1 Mark II With an 18-frames-per second continuous-shooting speed, overhauled autofocus system and new options to support professionals, Olympus tries to lure them with zippy performance and compact design.

I work intensively in entomology museums to photographs TYPES of wild bee species (mainly bumblebees Bombus and flower-bees Anthophora). I now use a "light" kit to transport my stacking material in hand-luggage.

Escape from comical cameras

I bought the earlier EM1 on eBay as a toe in the water on my return to photography and loved it so the natural progression was the mark II. There is much to like but if you are reading this you have already read the reviews.

Excellent Service and truth to what advertised

Excellent services by Cardinal Camera and Video! The camera was shipped the next day and arrived in four days with standard free shipping. My new E-M1 II arrived as brand new and unopened condition, as described and in its original packing with screen protectors and sealing pads and bags.

Marvellous: Olympus OM-D E-M1 reviewed

The second of the bigger mirror-less cameras from Olympus, the E-M1 reinvents the an SLR from the 70s with bits of today, making it a standout camera for tomorrow.

Great design and weight; Two megapixel viewfinder is very clear; Supports WiFi and wireless shooting with smartphone app; Smartphone camera application can show images building in real time; Lock button for keeping shooting mode selected; Lots of buttons; Comes with small external flash

While we like the amount of buttons; this number may confuse people; Screen only pops out at various angles; as per normal with other Olympus cameras; No built-in flash; Colour filtration modes only officially apply to JPEG; and while can be used with movies; can't be shut off in these modes

With 12 in-camera Art Filters, HD Movie, Interval Shooting, Time lapse photography, and more; normal, everyday scenes can be enhanced in various ways with more personality. And with new features such as Color Creator and HDR Shooting, you have the ability to expand photographic possibilities.

Switched and never looked back

I have waited almost a year before writing this review to give myself time for an honest evaluation. I was a former Canon shooter for probably 30+ years. A couple of years ago I invested in an EM5 MkII and started building a lens collection to match the Pro lineup I was used to with Canon.

Professional Camera but ease of use for most

An excellent, looking and quality camera, designed with professional features but easy to use by most existing camera users. Has a wide range constant lenses with a good variety of prime lenses. The constant feature ensures for eg that an f2.8 zoom maintains it's f2.8 at all focal lengths.

Outstanding Camera!

I have recently sold all of my Canon gear to purchase the M1 Mark II and 3 pro lenses. The initial test shots from the camera using each of the 3 lenses are superb! It's solidly built, very responsive and the image quality is on par with the Canon Mark iii.

Professional Lightweight Camera

Having replaced a Canon 5DSR system and lenses for a system that I can carry in its entirety for up to 6hrs + a day I must say I am impressed. The things this camera cannot do you can write on a postage stamp, for those photographers who like settings and menu's this camera is for you!

Durable; Great Features; Great Picture Quality; Lightweight
