Professional Camera but ease of use for most

An excellent, looking and quality camera, designed with professional features but easy to use by most existing camera users. Has a wide range constant lenses with a good variety of prime lenses. The constant feature ensures for eg that an f2.8 zoom maintains it's f2.8 at all focal lengths.

Escape from comical cameras

I bought the earlier EM1 on eBay as a toe in the water on my return to photography and loved it so the natural progression was the mark II. There is much to like but if you are reading this you have already read the reviews.

Marvellous: Olympus OM-D E-M1 reviewed

The second of the bigger mirror-less cameras from Olympus, the E-M1 reinvents the an SLR from the 70s with bits of today, making it a standout camera for tomorrow.

Great design and weight; Two megapixel viewfinder is very clear; Supports WiFi and wireless shooting with smartphone app; Smartphone camera application can show images building in real time; Lock button for keeping shooting mode selected; Lots of buttons; Comes with small external flash

While we like the amount of buttons; this number may confuse people; Screen only pops out at various angles; as per normal with other Olympus cameras; No built-in flash; Colour filtration modes only officially apply to JPEG; and while can be used with movies; can't be shut off in these modes

An absolutely wonderful camera! They changed me from a Nikon D90 to this so easy to get a little hysterical over how good everything is with this camera when it is so very recent but everything is really on top.

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II review

There’s no getting around the fact that the OM-D E-M1 Mark II is expensive. Yes, it’s Olympus’ flagship CSC and built like a tank but the £1,850 you’ll pay for just the body could get you a Fujifilm X-T2 (also weatherproof, also offering 4K recording) and a great lens – and the X-T2 is a better low light performer with a larger sensor. The one thing Olympus offers that no other CSC out there can match is its speed. With Pro Capture and 60fps bursts married to laser-accurate autofocus, this is the perfect mirrorless camera for anybody who wants to shoot sport or wildlife. It’s a pretty decent at everything else too, but you might want to wait until that price drops a little before reaching for your wallet. Buy the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II here from Wex Photographic

High speed capture; Tough and weatherproof; Fast, accurate autofocus; 4K video capture;

Small sensor; Painful price tag; Labyrinthine menu system;

Olympus really wants to attract sports photographers with OM-D E-M1 Mark II

Olympus rolled out the big numbers for its announcement of the update to its OM-D E-M1 flagship Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera, the OM-D E-M1 Mark II: a new 20.4-megapixel sensor with improved dynamic range, a new Dual Fast autofocus system with 121 phase-detection and 121 contrast-detection points, Cinema 4K/30p video recording, and 18 frames-per-second continuous shooting with autofocus (60fps if you don't need AF).

With an 18-frames-per second continuous-shooting speed, overhauled autofocus system and new options to support professionals, Olympus tries to lure them with zippy performance and compact design.

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Review

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II ($1,999.99, body only) packs in more technology than any other camera we've reviewed in recent memory. The beefy Micro Four Thirds shooter sports a high-speed 60fps Raw capture mode, a high-resolution multi-exposure capture setting, and an in-body stabilization system that steadies both images and 4K video. It's an excellent camera, especially if you place an emphasis on video capture, but not a perfect one. Its tracking focus struggles at its quickest standard burst rate, and its image sensor lags behind APS-C competitors in resolution and high ISO performance. Our Editors' Choice for high-end mirrorless cameras, the Fujifilm X-T2 ($1,459.00 at Amazon) , doesn't have quite as an impressive spec list, but delivers a more satisfying photographic experience. Design and Controls The E-M1 Mark II ($999.00 at Amazon) is styled like a sized-down SLR, complete with an array of dials and switches, and an eye-level electronic viewfinder. It measures 3.6 by 5.3...

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II shoots faster and does more than other high-end mirrorless cameras, but it's also more expensive.

Up to 60fps Raw capture; In-body stabilization; Large, sharp EVF; Vari-angle touch-screen display; High-resolution capture mode; Robust lens system; Weather-sealed body; 4K video support; Optional vertical battery grip; Wi-Fi

Expensive; Only one SD slot supports UHS-II; Tracking focus ineffective at top speeds; 60fps shooting is limited in duration; Very bright charging LED; Omits built-in flash
