Since it launched the PEN E-P1 way back in 2009, Olympus has been a leading light of the compact system camera world.

The 16 megapixel E-M1 is the company's top micro four thirds camera. It has a 2.36 megapixel electronic viewfinder, dual contrast and phase detection auto focus, five axis sensor-shift stabilisation and built-in Wi-Fi with remote control from a smartphone. The LCD swivels on the vertical plane.

The OM-D E-M1 is the best mirrorless camera ever from Olympus, and it's attracting interest from serious photographers who had, up until now, ignored Olympus and Micro Four Thirds technology. But the E-M1 deserves all the attention--it's the new champ in the "lightweight heavyweight" class.

Retro is in. Or at least, most camera-makers seem to be saying so. Though I\'ve never found anything wrong in that approach, it does seem like the legendary OM series from Olympus has taken a step in the wrong direction and seems to have lost itself in the design wilderness.

We were pretty much enamoured with the Olympus E-M5 (quick review) when we tested it in 2012. The E-M1 takes the best from that camera and further ups the game. Here are three things to love about this camera (and a few to hate). There is truly a lot to love about the E-M1.

Olympus has been pumping out cameras in its OM-D (Olympus Mirrorless Digital) series for a while now. It started back in 2009 with the arrival of the Olympus PEN E-P1, a retro camera that was a digital successor to its well-regarded analogue PEN cameras.

Lack of time and sleep during the past 6 months due to my hectic schedule have resulted in severe delays of publishing reviews on this website. On one hand, I wish I wrote this review much earlier when I first got the Olympus OM-D E-M1.

This $2,000 Olympus camera is crazy fast, but can it keep up with the pack?

The OM-D E-M1 represents the best that Olympus has to offer in the compact system camera (CSC) market. It's a Micro Four Thirds-based, interchangeable lens camera that balances the needs of pros and enthusiast photographers in one neat, and solid package.

Shutter button too squishy for our liking; Some noticeable LCD and EVF flickering under fluro lights

I have had the camera for a few weeks and haven't been able to fully explore all the features, however I have been impressed by the performance so far. Well balanced and easy to operate with even bigger hands, incredible in body stabilisation, really pleased with my purchase.
