75-300mm Good for reach

I received the lens as a gift. The reach is lovely on this lens, 75-300mm (150-600mm=35mm), its sharp up to 200mm. The lens gets a bit soft at 300mm. The build is good, although I would like to see Olympus build lenses with internal zoom movement, meaning the lens overall length does not change.

Built; Reach and sharpness at up to 200mm

slow focus ; soft at 300mm

Olympus M.Zuiko ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II Review

Handling and features Performance Verdict Specification This super-telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras offers a 4x zoom range equivalent to a 150-600mm lens on a 35mm camera.

Compact size; Lightweight; Fast; silent autofocus; Resistant to flare; Excellent resolution between 75mm and 150mm

Lacklustre sharpness and high CA levels at 300mm; No lens hood supplied as standard

Used this lens for just under a month to use om my EM10-II and found anything above 175mm is just too soft. So I returned it.

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II

There aren't a lot of choices for a 300mm lens in the M4/3 world. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this lens because reviews said it was soft at 300mm. It is compared to the excellent sharpness it exhibits at shorter focal lengths.

All Lenses are a compromise !

All lenses are a compromise : cost, desired focal length, size & weight, IQ, speed, build quality, prime vs zoom, zoom range, etc. So the fair rating has to be how well did the lens meet my expectations as I integrated and balanced those attributes for my needs.

excellent value for a lightweight super- telephoto

Bought this for its long 4X zoom........ pluses- lightweight, Manual Focus override with EM-1,..... minuses- slightly soft after 150mm (pixel peeping), slow max aperture means using a higher ISO, less accurate Auto focus in shade, No IS means tripod only use for Panny cameras. no hood included.....

a Gem and not even a Pro lens

Such a great lens..Have so many micro-third lens, the 12-40, 60 macro, 25mm. and more. This lens blew me away.. So sharp, focus so fast. Could not believe. Have been Olympus user for many years, back to film days. Will add two photo's I thought were really good.

Good lens

I can't say a lot about the lens as it was a present for my husband for his birthday. He seems very pleased with it. What I did want to say is that anyone trying to claim cashback from Olympus for their summer promotion should know that Olympus and John Lewis don't say is that you need to provide a...
