The Olympus E-30 is a new 12-megapixel, mid-range SLR that introduces Art filters to modify your photographs in interesting ways. While we were impressed by the sharpness and good image stabilization of this $1200 camera, it did poorly in our lab tests.

Olympus E-30 Review
Olympus has re-entered the highly competitive enthusiast/semi-pro sector of the market with the release of its E-30. A New Body is a Good Thing
Excellent bit of kit so far. Works well without having found out how to use all the tricks. Spending most of my time shooting on programme or auto but have expeimented with one or two of the artistic effects.

Small, sexy and surprisingly efficient. And we're not just talking about Heroes' Hayden Panettiere – the E30 has superb image quality, rock-solid stabilisation and plenty of cutting-edge features.

Olympus E-30
The Olympus E-30 ($1,299.99 list, body only) has enough nifty features to turn heads-most notably, offering the capability to add Photoshop-like effects and merge four images into one on the fly. But is that enough?
Cons:
- Noisy at high ISOs
- A bit pricey.

Reviews: Olympus E-30: Review
In conclusion the Olympus E-30 is a great camera for users of all skill levels. A mid-rage D-SLR with the added features of photo software, the functionality of a point-and-shoot, and the high end functionality of an D-SLR, the E-30 is the best of both worlds.

Images can be copied between the cards, but there's no auto ‘overflow' function like there is on some Nikon D-SLRs and nor does it appear that the E-3's simultaneous recording of images to both cards is possible.
