Nokia's comeback to the smartphone market involved a lot more of nostalgia than crazy expectations around the performance. Underpowered hardware for a premium price, and build quality being the only USP summarizes the first batch of Nokia devices in 2017.

Solid Build; Good Battery Life; Snappy UI

Sub-par cameras; Dated 16:9 Display

Nokia 6.1 2018 Review: Midranger with Excellent build & Performance

The Nokia 6.1 (Nokia 2018) is an upgrade over last gen's Nokia 6. It now comes with many improvements in battery, performance, software, but is priced slightly higher. So the question arises is it worth the price and does it provide value for money Let's find out now.

Nokia 6.1 Smartphone TA-1050 review

The Nokia 6.1 is a very reasonably priced smartphone that is capable of producing good images and excellent video in most situations. Yes, it does struggle a bit in low light and when scenes have a wide dynamic range, results can be disappointing but overall, it did a decent enough job.

Lovely design; Good screen; Pro mode; Decent camera; Good price

Not a dual lens camera; The battery could be better; The camera app is a little clunky and basic (in places); Lack of Optical Image Stabilisation; Not waterproof

Nokia 6 Smartphone Review

The most expensive model of Nokia's new smartphone trio distinguishes itself from the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5 with its larger form factor and 5.5-inch Full HD display. The working memory and internal storage also received an upgrade, being more generous at 3 GB and 32 GB respectively.

high-quality case; many LTE bands; dual-SIM slot; Android 7.1; fingerprint sensor; good 16-MP camera; bright Full HD display; long battery life; low heat development

no USB Type-C connection; USB-2.0 speed only; display has a blue tint; not all games run smoothly

The Nokia 6 is a conflicting device. There's a lot to like about it, especially its premium design and solid build quality, but it's only an average performer. It feels underpowered, especially for what many power users would expect.

Design and Build quality Good display Monthly security updates

Inconsistent camera performance No fast charging Average performance

I mproved design The design of the Nokia 6 (2018) sees an improvement with a higher screen to body ratio of 73.2%, compared to 70.7% on the original Nokia 6. This equates to less phone above and below the screen, making the phone 5mm shorter.

Out of everything that the 6 has to offer there were really only the two negative points that reared up at me during testing. The camera which has already been mentioned and at times, the lack of CPU made load times on apps noticeably longer than on other devices I've recently used.

Great basic phone

I'm updating my review on this phone after a longer use, I love how it comes with pure android and no unnecessary apps are installed by the manufacturer, you get 3 GB of RAM and a big screen with great display, Battery lasts all day and I was very very impressed with battery life comparing it to my...

Nokia 6 (2018) review

It says a lot about the quality of the Nokia 6 (2018) that many of the downsides we could attribute to it wouldn't realistically be expected on a phone of this price in 2018. Admittedly, it doesn't offer wireless charging, a dual-lens rear camera, waterproofing or an 18:9 display, but nor do many of...

Stock Android with guaranteed updates; Durable yet attractive handset; Generous HD screen

Solo rear camera; Battery just about lasts the day; Audio is a bit disappointing

Nokia 6 review: Affordable mid-ranger is on fighting form

The Nokia 6.1 is Nokia doing what it's best known for: making affordable, quality devices. This mid-ranger's solid build, better-than-rivals' power, and flexibility with a microSD slot and 3.5mm headphone port, all make it a capable daily phone that's a pleasure to use.

Build quality; Powerful hardware for the price; Good value for money; Android One is bloat-free and great to use

16:9 display might be seen as dated; Speaker performance isn't great; Low-light camera performance isn't great
