Nokia 4.2 review

The 4.2 has shown that Nokia can still produce good hardware, and combined with the slick user interface on Android One it provides an enjoyable user experience. This fully featured modern handset produces consistently solid performance, with above average cameras and impressive battery life.

Nokia 4.2 Review

The Nokia 4.2 has been a roller coaster. My initial review unit suffered from constant stutters and freezes that made using the phone a hair-pulling affair. The second unit has delivered a markedly improved experience, but it doesn't stop this $189 phone from having several compromises.

Good battery life; Nice design and build quality; Notification light; NFC; dedicated Google Assistant button are handy; Android One means 2 years of fast updates; Affordable

Slow performance; Slow camera; mediocre low-light photos; Doesn't work on Sprint; Verizon; Micro USB port

Nokia 4.2 review: Good, but not good enough

It's clear that the Nokia 4.2 is a slight misstep for the Finnish firm. We don't expect a phone at this end of the price scale to be faultless, but when the Nokia 4.2's issues are this plentiful – and the Moto G7 Play does things better in almost every regard – it struggles to earn a recommendation.

Well-priced; Lovely design; Solid camera

micro-USB charging; Single-band Wi-Fi; Short battery life

Nokia 4.2 is HMD Global's latest offering in India, and it aims to leave a mark in probably the most hotly contested segment of the smartphone market. The new Nokia phone inherits its curved dual-glass design from its siblings in the current Nokia lineup, and offers a stock Android experience.

Good; Appealing design; good build quality; Stock Android without bloatware

Bad; Sluggish performance; Camera performance and quality issues; Low battery capacity; slow charging

Nokia 4.2 (2019) review

The Nokia 4.2 is a decent budget smartphone when it comes to the essential but it falls off hard if you expect anything more from it.

Appealing design; Plenty of features

Poor camera; Underwhelming performance

Nokia 4.2 - Pink 32GB HDNOK4.2PK review

Skip it, unless you really want to spend less than $200 on a phone. On paper, the Nokia 4.2 is a solid value with a great design. However, its quality software and build conceal underwhelming performance that you won't want to live with — especially in the face of competitively priced hardware from...

Nifty notification light in power button, Charming, compact design, Low price, Android One software

Still rocking a micro USB port, Occasionally slow performance, Dim, low-res display, Passable cameras

Nokia 4.2 review: Decent entry level smartphone facing stiff competition

Nokia smartphones under HMD Global have a long way to go in the India market, which is largely dominated by Chinese OEMs. But it's surely on the right track with a bevy of trendy looking budget and mid range smartphones.

Nokia 4.2 review

While it looks and feels great in the hand, Nokia appears to have cut back a little too much when it comes to everyday performance. The Nokia 4.2 simply doesn't perform as well as its classy design suggests it should.

Sharp glass-and-polycarbonate design; Decent camera for the price; Android One OS is lean and glassy

Poor; sluggish performance; Battery life can't hold up to media; Display underwhelms
