I found myself with the opportunity to play Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence - Ascension on the Playstation 4 recently. Family Friendly Gaming was sent a digital download code for this political game set in ancient Japan.

tl;dr This is an RTS inside an RTS inside a strategy game designed for consoles, and it works. The AI makes this game. Game was ~60 hours of fun for a $22 price tag. May play it again. An all-around good value.
If you like strategy games like Nobunaga's Ambition or Romance of the Three Kingdoms, then this will be what you are expecting. There is no instruction book, and the tutorial is inadequate for how indepth the game is.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence - Ascension is a very deep, complex, and well made game with high quality experiences from the lowest to the highest level of rule in Feudal Japan. It is also a tease, showing you all of this quality without taking the time to actually explain itself.
Complex; layered gameplay; Wealth of historical events to play; Nice graphics; sound; and music; Very fun warring mode
Hard to learn; understand; Very bad camera controls; Poor menu design
Game arrived in reasonable time in excellent condition. The packaging was superb. As for the game itself, I think it's the best strategy game on PS4. It's a historical simulation with a lot of class. Will buy from this website again.
Very fun if you like more civil control work your strategy games. The military/battle aspect is not as deep as Total War but the civil aspect is deeper.
Too slow too much to learn instructions are in a small box at the top of the screen OK if you're up close with an LCD screen but sitting back watching it on a TV is not helpful
If Total War and Civilisation V had a baby, this would be the result.
The Nobunaga's Ambition series has been around since 1983 and Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence was originally released in Japan on its 30th anniversary. It didn't reach Western shores until late 2015.
In-depth and fun strategy game
Complicated interface takes some adjusting to; limited voice acting
