Game Review: No Man's Sky

I don't know what I'm doing. I'm on a planet with a crashed ship, a cryptic message about following some kind of path, some weird rocks and a bunch of animals. I need to try and find some fuel and other things to patch up my ship to get the heck off this world.

Very relaxing; Beautiful at times; Lots to do; Inventing names for things is fun; The lore can be intriguing; Procedural generation creates some great things

Starship dogfights aren't great; Definitely not for everyone; Not much in the way of traditional story telling; Not all planets are interesting; Procedural generation brings up a lot of similar things; Star map is clunky to navigate back to places you've been

No Man's Sky

Where do you start when you feel like you're a drop in the ocean? That's how I initially felt when I commenced playing the highly anticipated No Man's Sky . The game is massive and I mean massive.

No Man's Sky

Despite the randomization of planets and animal life, every No Man's Sky playthrough begins the same: You wake up on a planet wholly unlike Earth, with a spaceship that won't fly, inside a suit that only barely keeps you alive.

No Man's Sky Review – Reach for the Sky (PS4)

The word hype is thrown around a lot these days when talking about video games. But few games have reached the heights of hype that No Man's Sky , especially considering the small size of the team at Hello Games.

A truly endless galaxy to explore; Several separate pillars of experience; Exactly as Hello Games described..

...which may not be what you expect; Texture pop-in can be obvious; Turning in discoveries can be a little tedious

"Ehhh- This was rated 5 stars by people before it was released."

I was excited for this. It was promising. I knew the hype was through the roof and that pretty much no game like this (unless Star Citizen was thrown at us from a secret development room with every promise they've made) could ever break that, but I did hope for a little more than what No Man's Sky...

If you remember Elite, don't buy.

It will take you 5 years to finish this game, 5 years of the same boring repetition. If you remember Elite for the Commodore 64/128, then you will be disapointed.

No way mans sky

I heard this game had so much content and potential but as I first entered the disk into my ps4 I've had nothing but disappointment as the contents over the top repetitive as well the combats really boring as there's nothing to fight/enemies the time it takes to move around planets and systems is...

Okay game but rather samey

This game allows you to visit an infinite number of galaxies with planets & moons to discover resoucres to power your space craft. There is also a mission for Atlas, which i started but never completed as I found the planets too similar, same animals, plants on each.
