No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky is impressive, unusual and staggeringly vast. Despite some moments of tedium, its gravitational pull will keep many players perpetually engaged.

A near-endless universe full of varied flora and fauna; Having a whole universe to name is great fun; Wonderfully written alien encounters

Planets may change but the core experience never does; Tedious combat and fiddly inventory management; Illusion of depth is fleeting

The Universe is a large place, a place full of wonders, of stories, of untold valour. It is an unexplored marvel and one that needs its own adventure. No Man's Sky has promised so much in the lead up to its release. A small team creating something massive.

Lots of planets to explore l Flying around is amazing l Great music l Prettiness

Awful inventory l A chore to get through l World is dull l Characters are dull l Story is dull l Dull dull dull

No Man's Sky is one man's lie.

The game is simple enough. You scour around planets, non of which are non-hostile environments, gathering resources to upgrade your suit, ship, and weapon/mining tool on your way to the center of the universe. The grind is what I expected and the gameplay is more or less what I expected.

No Mans Sky

Nice and relaxing, but needs more content. Maybe in the future this could be a great game.

No Man's Sky Limited Edition

In short bursts, 'No Man's Sky' is amazing, but going deeper, I found only a void. There's a great framework, and an arresting visual style to go with an ease of mobility, but in a short amount of time, I despaired of finding any more interactivity or progression in the all-too-similar horizons and...

No Man's Sky Review

One of the most anticipated games of the year, No Man's Sky is somewhat of a letdown. While it certainly puts its best foot forward with a beautiful audio and visual presentation, to put it bluntly, it's boring.

No Man's Sky review – where no one has gone?before

A stunning technical achievement and a mesmerisingly addictive one, even after you realise how simplistic and repetitive it really is.

Enormous game world is a pleasure to explore even when you know all its tricks; Competent space and land combat; Excellent art design and soundtrack

Highly repetitive main gameplay loop, that requires little skill and offers little danger; Poor use of intelligent aliens; Flawed visuals when on a planet; Infuriating inventory and lots of minor bugs

Gets repetitive quick.

Awesome idea for a game but it does get repetitive quick. Also a lot of the landscapes and creatures seem similar even though they are all randomly generated. Will be interesting to see if they can build off this for a sequel.

No Man's Sky (PlayStation 4) Review

No Man's Sky can easily be identified by its open, vivid landscapes, and generally stunning visuals. It's, undoubtedly, one of the most visually spectacular experiences available on current gen hardware, and it's definitely one of the strongest points in the overall design.

No Man's Sky [PS4] review: infinite bore-fare

No Man's Sky has the potential to be more, so much more, but it's not worth its AAA price tag. It's not as awful as some claim, but it's not particularly awe-inspiring either.
