No Man's Sky

Explore the vastness of space in No Man's Sky, an action-adventure with elements of survival and exploration that lets you explore the galaxy while encountering all sorts of strange life forms.

Explore a vast procedurally generated galaxy; Developer commitment to continual development

Minimal gameplay depth on launch; Lack of optimisation and performance particularly on PC version

No Man's Sky (PlayStation 4) Review

No Man's Sky is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases of this console generation. Since its debut at E3 several years ago, it wowed audiences with the promise of nigh-infinite space travel across a visually stunning universe.

Appropriate for all ages, but failed to live up to critic's hype

This game is to start off, not a horrible game. If this game seems as if it appeals to you, then it probably does; but it's gameplay is incredibly repetitive, and gets dull quickly. It's gameplay obviously can't be understood by two year olds, but is appropriate for all ages.

Gets repetitive quick.

Awesome idea for a game but it does get repetitive quick. Also a lot of the landscapes and creatures seem similar even though they are all randomly generated. Will be interesting to see if they can build off this for a sequel.

No Man's Sky NEXT Review

Flying from planet to planet in search of the universe's rarest materials and technologies in No Man's Sky NEXT scratches an exploratory itch. It still carries a lot of caveats: It's mechanically repetitive no matter what planet you're on, the dull combat should be avoided whenever possible, and...

In a galaxy far, far away...

No Man's Sky is an exploration game set in a vast galaxy of over 18 quintillion planets. Each one is massive--too big for any one person to explore fully in the span of a day--and if you're the first to discover one, you not only get to name it, you also get first dibs on any discoveries contained...

A massive; seamless world; Impressive tech supports a genuine-feeling journey; Unfettered freedom to explore numerous rewarding pursuits; Attractive ship and weapon designs; Meaningful narrative

Frustrating item management and UI; Shallow variety; Mediocre shooting mechanics; NPCs lack meaningful personalities

No Man's Sky Beyond review – to infinity and VR

The version 2.0 update for No Man's Sky brings with it new multiplayer and VR options but how much do they really change the game

Enormous game world is even more fun to explore in VR or with friends; Competent space combat; Excellent art design, interesting new customisation options, and fantastic ambience

No change to the core gameplay, such as it is, and the aliens, both intelligent and otherwise, are still little more than background details; VR options are limited by current hardware

Bound Review – Remain Seated and Hold onto the Bar

Bound is a beautiful title that would no doubt be considered a form of art for many who experience it. Developed by Plastic Studios in collaboration with Sony Santa Monica, Bound is described as a 3D platformer featuring a ballerina in the starring role.

Excellent audio and visuals; Deep; streamlined camera mode; Intriguing plot line

Oversimplified "puzzles; Barebones gameplay

Bound Review – Excels In Presenting An Engaging Universe

Bound takes the player into a fantastic dreamscape symbolizing a woman revisiting her childhood memories. Now, as you may notice, that is quite a short summary, but why is it so short

Amazing presentation; Imaginative storyteling

Lackluster gameplay; Frustrating camera

Bound Review

Dreams about the past can be devastating, or smile-inducing, or above all, enlightening. Our past "informs our present" and all that. So as a pregnant woman sits alone on a beach, her thoughts get the best of her.

Unprecedented visual artistry for this generation; One of the best; most "real" feeling characters; Great alternative for those looking for capital A in the art games
