Nintendo is sticking to its slightly odd naming system with the (deep breath) New Nintendo 2DS XL , but the name does at least make sense: this is new, it's from Nintendo, it's got 2D screens, and they're bigger than they used to be.

Bought this for my daughter for a birthday present she is thrilled with it..she loves how cool it looks in white and orange..she can't put it down. Was out of stock and johnlewis emailed me when it was available, great service great console very happy with my purchase.

I bought mario kart 7 with the game I got it yesterday and I enjoy it the game.

Bought this just to play pokemon (and Persona Q). Works well. Battery life isn't exceptional and the analog stick isn't the best but otherwise does exactly what I want it to. Can't complain really.

Awesome device though with almost 15 years of games to choose from. Id take this over a switch right now. Youd think they could have updated the OS for just these so I dont have to see that 3DS load screen everytime. Small issue but still. Doesnt seem like itd be that big of a fix.

The Nintendo Switch exists, and is a fantastic gaming system that you can, in a pinch, play in a bar, a car, or on the train. Phones exist too, and the games on them are better than ever. So why the hell should you own anything else Because games.
