Nikon Z6 III Review: They Did it Right This Time

When the Nikon Z6 II was announced, I truly felt that it was quite a small update. When we reviewed it , we mostly thought that they gave it new card slots, and that was all. Much time has passed since 2020, when we reviewed the Z6 II.
Pros:
  • It feels really nice. If you thought that the Z8 was too big, this is the one you’ll want instead, Semi-stacked sensor, a world’s first for fast readout speeds, Autofocus performance that’s almost like that of the Z8, Nice viewfinder, Dual card slots, Weather resistance, Good high ISO output
Cons:
  • We would’ve liked a megapixel count somewhere in the 30’s range, The viewfinder brightness isn’t really all that noticeable, even though it’s nice, I wish it had a sensor shield to protect the sensor when changing lenses

Nikon Z6III

The Nikon Z6III brings many functions of the professional Z8 and Z9 cameras at a lower price. In some areas, it even surpasses them. For example, its new OLED viewfinder is significantly brighter and capable of displaying the large DCI-P3 colour space.

Nikon Z6 III Review | Flagship Performance On A Prosumer Budget?

All in all, Nikon went beyond “a successor that did not disappoint”. This is a successor that basically takes a step up in its class, competing with the heavy-hitters in higher price ranges more than its predecessors and its same-priced competitors. For this reason, I highly recommend it.

REVIEW Nikon Z6III — Best All-Round Mirrorless?

Did Nikon screw up? Does the Nikon Z6III have too many features for its price point? Things like that do happen. The Z6III costs about $1100 less than the Nikon Z8. For the extra dough, the Z8 gives you 45.7 megapixels instead of 24.5, but one could argue that aside from the higher resolution and...

Cons:
  • · None detected (really)
