Great Flash Unit for Most Photographers

SB-700 works well with my Nikon DSLRs. Flash unit appears well made. The flash comes with diffusion dome, and filters for incandescent and florescent lighting situations. Has a flash stand for remote, multi-flash situations. Also has diffusion lens and white bounce card built in.
Pros:
  • Competent flash works well with all modern Nikon DSLRs
  • Fast recycle times
  • Comes with diffusion dome and filter accessories
  • Cheaper than more top of line Nikon flash units
Cons:
  • Not the biggest guide number in Nikon's family of DSLR flash units (but then again...do you really need that big a guide number...if you don't
  • save yourself some money and get the SB-700)

Perfect for outdoor portraiture.

This is a perfect flash for outdoor portraiture - it's not 'nuclear,' like the SB800, but more powerful than the on-camera fill flash. Really, just perfect for outdoor portraiture.

Super flash SB-700

Bought this as I needed a flash gun to take some portraits I went for a Nikon Sb-700. Used for the first time today and the results are amazing. Well worth the price tag for this flash.

A very versatile product

i started taking photography more seriously a few months ago - starting with the purchase of the Nikon d3400 SLR camera from John Lewis. After a couple of months, I wanted to expand my choice of taking pictures with flash over and above the d3400 built in flash.

Pay the money, buy this flash.

What a difference a good flash makes! I used the onboard flash of my D3200 for a year or so, knowing it wasn't helping make decent lowlight pictures. Unfortunately I listened to some poor advice that "all electronic flash are the same" on a few of the forums. Now I know better.

3rd dead flash after only medium-load daily use.

Least reliable flash I've ever used. I've been using this flash professionally, mainly for run-and-gun quick real estate photography. I shoot *max* 150 finished images in a day (average 50-100) for this work, spread out over a few properties per day and I rarely shoot much more frames than I use,...

Very competent flash.

Had been in the market for a new flash for a while. Conducted research on the top of the line flashes and settled on the Sb 700. Not because of the lower price but more of the smaller size and more than adequate power. There were too many features on the 5000 that I would never use.
