The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 20mm f/1.8G ED is a high-quality, compact and relatively affordable wide-angle lens for full-frame Nikon DSLR users, although it lacks any form of weather-sealing and optical image stabilisation.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED Lens - Brand New review

The tested Nikkor can by only compared to the Sigma 20 mm f/1.8 EX DG Aspherical RF, a lens which could be called good over 10 years ago; currently our demands are noticeably higher and the performance of the Nikkor is the proof.

very good image quality in the frame centre,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C/DX,, slight chromatic aberration,, properly corrected spherical aberration,, moderate distortion,, low coma level in the corners of the APS-C/DX sensor,, negligible astigmatism,, not very bothersome vignetting...

too much plastic and slacks in the casing,, a bit too weak image quality on the edge of full frame,, distinct coma in the full frame corners,, work against bright light could have been better,, significant vignetting on full frame.

This compact ultra wide angle lens from Nikon costs around £680 and sports a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, silent, internal focusing with full time manual focus override and Nikon's Nano Crystal optical coating, to improve contrast while suppressing ghosting and flare.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED Lens - Brand New review

The Nikon 20mm ƒ/2.8 AF-D has been waiting 20 years for a refresh; it's nice to see Nikon completing its prime lineup in the ƒ/1.8 configuration. The lens isn't exorbitantly expensive, and performs extremely well.
