Great product.... but the locking broke :(
This camera lens worked great with my D5000 but 2 parts out of 3 parts that locks the lens to the body has broken and will only stay on if you hold it in to place and the photos are now coming out burly because of it :(

I love this lens and use it all the time
I love this lens and use it all the time. I travel frequently, so this is great for taking pictures of the sights, wildlife - even some landscape shots. The range is good, gives you options without sacrificing quality.

THE BEST FOR BEGINNERS
I love it but I wish it could be faster on the D3200. I recommend it to junior photographers such as me. If you are a new beginner you have to buy this lens and the reasons are its cheap, its got VR, Its got a zoom rande of 55-200 which is pretty good for sports and wildlife.

Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II
I bought this lens to replace my Nikkor 18-200mm AF-S ED which seem to stop working all together, I thought it was the camera, but after mounting it on my friends Nikon D3300, he had the same issue I had. I paid $750 for that lens in 2006 and I like the size (72mm filter size).

Fine lens at a great price
I bought this lens even though I already have the older 55-200mm VR kit lens from 2008. They are both equally sharp, and focus reasonably quickly. This lens is quite a bit more compact, which was my main reason for getting it. At the sale price, it is a good value.

Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED DX VR II AF-S Nikkor
This is perhaps the best bang for the buck for a telephoto lens out there in the APS-C world. It's tack sharp corner to corner at wide open apertures and from wide to long FOV, suffers from almost no chromatic aberration and has negligible distortion, plus it's parfocal, so it stays in focus as you...
Pros:
- Lightweight
- compact
- astoundingly sharp
- great bokeh
- parfocal
- highly effective VR
- dirt cheap if you get it refurbished in a DX camera/2 lens kit
Cons:
- MF is very hard to do with its short ring turning angle and its total lack of resistance
- zoom ring could be smoother
- at f/5.6 at the long end it's quite dark
- and it doesn't have the fastest or quietest AF motor (but is fast and quiet enough)
- but hey I

Great lense and light
Only downside is it is not shipped with a lense hood. Other than that it's a great light lense. I hate lugging heavy lenses around especially if I'm on a long hike up a mountain. This lense is small and compact enough to fit in a pocket.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Quick Focus
- Sharp Focus
- Strong Construction

GREAT lens for price
Got it for rs 9999. A must have lens for travelling and entry level wildlife shots. Paired it with nikon D5200. Awesome bokeh and great shots in daylight. However it suffers a bit to autofocus in dark or low light conditions.
