Nikon PC Nikkor 19mm f/4E ED Review (Review Nikon PC Nikkor 19mm f/4E ED)

The Nikon PC Nikkor 19mm f/4E ED is a speciality lens capable of shift and tilt movements. Image quality is strong, but its asking price is quite high.
Pros:
  • Ultra-wide angle perspective., Quite sharp., Resists flare., Fluorine protective coating., Tilt and shift movements., Dual-rotation mechanism.

I would recomment this product

Bought this lens to replace an 18-300mm lens by another manufacturer which I found slow to focus and (when there was the slightest grime on the protecting filter) inaccurate to focus.
Pros:
  • Accurate Focusing
  • Great Features
  • Great Picture Quality
  • Simple Controls

Pretty Good

I purchased this lens along with a D3300 a few months before my recently completed Tanzanian safari, in order to become familiar with it in time for that big trip. Now that I used it for 2100 pictures in Africa, I can report that the lens is good, not great.

Nikon AF-S DX 18-300 F3.5-6.3G ED VR Lens JAA821DA review

Nikon's AF-S Nikkor 18-300mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens offers the longest zoom range currently available for any interchangeable lens camera system. But this comes with all of the usual optical compromises associated with a superzoom, in a large, heavy package.
Pros:
  • Huge 16.7x focal length range (while maintaining F5.6 aperture at telephoto)
  • Good image quality in the wide to short telephoto range
  • Fast
  • quiet autofocus
  • Good build quality
  • smooth zooming action and no zoom creep
  • Decent close-up capability
  • Nikon DX SLR owners looking for the longest possible...
Cons:
  • Very soft results at telephoto
  • Extreme distortion across most of the range (but can be corrected in-camera with recent SLRs)
  • Image stabilization not as effective as on similar lenses
  • especially at telephoto end
  • Flash shadowing at wideangle on smaller SLRs
  • Large
  • heavy and expensive compared to...

Nikon 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR DX AF-S Nikkor

I've now taken hundreds of shots with my Nikon D7100 to compare the A. 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G DX with B. 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G DX and C. 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G FX, chosen best of three in all categories and carefully compared them. Here's what I've observed: 1.
Pros:
  • Impressive focal length range
  • handy size
  • saves having to change lenses in the field
Cons:
  • Vignetting at 18mm
  • not super sharp
  • focus breathing at 300mm with close subjects
  • significantly overpriced

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR

Nobody expects a zoom with as ambitious of a range as the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR to be an impeccable optical performer. Issues like distortion are readily removed, either in-camera or via software, but there's no fixing a lack of detail.
Pros:
  • Long 16.7x zoom range
  • Optical stabilization
  • 1:3 macro magnification
  • Relatively light and compact
Cons:
  • Distortion throughout range
  • Weak edge and telephoto performance
  • Hood not included
