No; it's not sharp.

No, no, no. I photograph professionally, and I heard from some other photographers that this lens was not as sharp as Nikon's 28-300 in the same line. I didn't listen; they were right. Do some identical setups with other lenses and you'll find that this one is not sharp and crisp.

AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR II Lens

The AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR II is a minor redesign of a previous lens. It features a new zoom mechanism for reducing zoom creep (the lens slides forward when tilted).
Pros:
  • You want an all-in-one lens with good build quality
  • You'd like effective image stabilisation
  • You'd like a lens that requires no readjustment when you fit polarisers and graduated filters.
