Awesome lens!
This is one awesome lens! Took it on a NYC photowalk. Got some great shots! Fast auto focus. Anyone considering this lens, don't let the price stop you. It is absolutely worth it!
Pros:
- Strong Construction
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Durable
- Consistent Output

Good little lens for its purpose. I have used it with a D7k for interiors and if you stay away from flare points and shoot with a little care, the CA is not too bad (manageable with software corrections). The range is great and is reminiscent of when I shot Canon with the 16-35. About as sharp too.
Pros:
- Range, usefulness for Architectural photography on a crop body
- The focus is dead on (rare for this type of lens IMO)
Cons:
- CA
- distortion (although I don't care too much as it's easily correctable)

Great Lens
I use this lens mostley for landscape / scenery. When I am hiking in the mountains this is the lens I have mounted on my camera. It has given me some great dramatic wide angle shots that are clear and have great color. It gives me the range I was looking for with a DX format camera.

Great wide angle
This is the widest angle lens I have ever used and it's a dandy. The zoom is great for interiors, framing is a cinch. Wish the aperture were constant, but overall this lens is an excellent choice. Only done a few landscapes so far but results are promising.
Pros:
- Durable
- Easy To Use
- Reliable
Cons:
- Bulky

Moderate.
Cons:
- The exorbitant price made this lens unpopular, enthusiasts going behind Tamron or Sigma
- I am fine with this lens which I borrowed from my friend for testing, went well
- I am not planning to go Nikkor 12-24, price factor

Extremely fun wide angle for DX
I was torn between the Nikon 12-24 and this lens for my DX ultra wide DX needs. I chose this lens due greater angle or frame coverage and I am glad I did. That extra 10 degrees of coverage is actually a lot! I also was convinced that this lens is sharper than its 12-24 brother.
Pros:
- Widest angle you can get (at this time) for DX
- sharp
- high contrast image rendering
Cons:
- Other than minor complaint about distortion at 10 to 15mm, I do not have any
- But such is the case with all ultra wide lenses, it's just that this one has bit more distortion than most lenses
