Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED DX AF-S Nikkor

I've had this lens for three years now and it is the lens that is on my camera most of the time. I've taken lots of pictures with it ranging from landscapes to indoors and as a travel walk around. I find it to be sharp and well built - no regrets here.
Pros:
  • Sharp
  • solid build
Cons:
  • flare
  • distortion but fixable

Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f3.5-4.5G ED Lens – Review – 31

Wide Angle The NIKKOR 10-24mm lens is equivalent to 15-36mm in 35mm film terms. This is real-estate wide; not a distorted fish-eye perspective, but sufficiently wide to make the smallest of rooms appear spacious.
Pros:
  • Wide angle
  • Low distortion
  • Manual/automatic focus mode
Cons:
  • No vibration reduction

10-24 F3.5-5.6

This is a class leader in the ultra wide zoom category. Designed for crop sensor Nikon DSLRs it offers an ultra wide to semi wide focal length range (35mm equivalent of 15mm - 36mm). It delivers fantastic image resolution throughout its entire focal range which is unmatched.

Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED review

Nikon's venerable 12-24mm ultrawide zoom has the benefit of a reasonably fast f/4 aperture that remains constant throughout the zoom range. By contrast, the newer 10-24mm lens has a variable f/3.5-4.5 maximum aperture but, crucially, it extends the zoom range where it matters most: at the wide-angle...

Extremely fun wide angle for DX

I was torn between the Nikon 12-24 and this lens for my DX ultra wide DX needs. I chose this lens due greater angle or frame coverage and I am glad I did. That extra 10 degrees of coverage is actually a lot! I also was convinced that this lens is sharper than its 12-24 brother.
Pros:
  • Widest angle you can get (at this time) for DX
  • sharp
  • high contrast image rendering
Cons:
  • Other than minor complaint about distortion at 10 to 15mm, I do not have any
  • But such is the case with all ultra wide lenses, it's just that this one has bit more distortion than most lenses
