Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Review
The Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED is a light, compact macro lens with a standard-angle field of view that delivers very sharp results. The Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED ($599.95) is a versatile lens that can serve as an everyday choice for fans of a standard-angle field of view, while also supporting close focus for 1:1 macro magnification. It's a solid performer, capturing images that are evenly crisp from edge to edge and free of distortion, but with a strong vignette that dims edges and corners at wider apertures. If you're in want of a macro of this focal legnth, it's an excellent choice, but not quite the equal of our Editors' Choice Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro VC USD ($689.00 at Amazon) , which has a slightly tighter angle of view, but is incredibly sharp in its own right and adds image stabilization. DesignThe Micro-Nikkor 60mm ($596.95 at Amazon) looks like almost every modern Nikon lens. Its barrel is black polycarbonate with gold accents, and the mount is metal. It's a svelte optic—it measures 3.5 by 2.9 inches (HD), weighs 15 ounces, and supports 62mm front filters. A reversible lens hood is in...- Sharp from edge to edge

Dependable Nikkor quality and results!
I sold my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art lens in order to afford swapping to this Nikkor. The difference in focal length is negligible in practical use, but having the close focusing ability adds so much more to my kit. Focus is sharp from edge to edge, and the colors are true to rest of Nikons lens line.
Amazing performance in a Macro lens
This lens is very highly rated in terms of sharpness, and freedom from distortion (straight lines remain straight, not curved). In addition it is a macro lens (Nikkor refers to it as a micro) which means it has the ability to focus much more closely than a conventional lens, and also that the lenses...
A Great Lens to Own
Very sharp images on close-up shots, as well a good lens to use for stand inportrait work. The lens is light enough, as macro-micro lens go, that it can beused as a "walk around" lens. The 60 feels solid and the focus ring has a goodfeel to it.- Consistent Output

Nikon AF-S Macro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED JAA632DB review
In its own right, the Nikon 60mm ƒ/2.8 AF-S is an excellent lens, providing excellent results for sharpness, tolerance to CA and almost no distortion. Light falloff is a little noticeable when mounted on a DX body, and very significant on a full-frame body like the D3, but only if you shoot wide...
Lens Test: Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro-Nikkor
The latest version of Nikon's legendary close-focusing 1:1 "normal" macro (the first was the 55mm f/3.5 of 1961), this full-frame lens ($490, street) incorporates aspheric and ED glass elements, with Nikon's Nano crystal coating, indicated by the gold "N" logo, for suppressing internal flare and...
Nikon 60mm f/2.8G AF-S ED Micro Lens
While I hope to create a full Nikon 60mm f/2.8G AF-S ED Micro Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information...

Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro Nikkor review by dhale001
I have been shooting a Micro Nikkor 55mm 1:2.8 since 1986 on a Nikon F3. When I bought a Nikon D90 three years ago, I bought this lens. I also have the Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8. For flowers, general photography inside and outside, this is an excellent choice.- Sharp
