Want to get extreme close-up shots on any camera format? Look no further than the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 micro lens… Many lenses are labelled ‘macro', implying they support ultra-close-up shooting. But in most cases this isn't really true. For real macro photography you need a genuine macro lens.

Probably the best Nikkor 60mm macro ever
This is a very good lens length, it is very easy to hand hold and hand hold still. It is probably the best Nikkor macro of this range, I have owned the 55 mm 3.5 non-Ai, the 55mm 2.8 AIs and the 60mm 2.8 AF-d....all have been very good this one tops them.

Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro Nikkor
If I can only carry one camera while on vacation or when weight limit is an issue, this is the lens I most often use with my D800e. Informal people photos, landscapes, and close-ups/copy-work, the 60mm G is a good bargain lens.
Pros:
- low distortion
- good contrast
- light weight
- sufficiently sharp

Great lens, sharp, fast, small and light. Bargain.
Amazingly sharp lens, and as others have said you do need to get very close when using on a full frame. I sold it in the end and brought a 105mm macro, i loved this lens on my crop sensor.

Awesome lens!
I recommend this product for professional ,entry-level and entry-professional photographers. It is a high quality lens with no distortions and a great blur effect. I mostly used with a D5100 and D5300. This lens is one of my favourites. It definitely deserves 5 stars!

Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Review
The Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED is a light, compact macro lens with a standard-angle field of view that delivers very sharp results. It's a solid performer, capturing images that are evenly crisp from edge to edge and free of distortion, but with a strong vignette that dims edges and corners at wider apertures. If you're in want of a macro of this focal legnth, it's an excellent choice, but not quite the equal of our Editors' Choice Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro VC USD ($689.00 at Amazon) , which has a slightly tighter angle of view, but is incredibly sharp in its own right and adds image stabilization. DesignThe Micro-Nikkor 60mm ($596.95 at Amazon) looks like almost every modern Nikon lens. Its barrel is black polycarbonate with gold accents, and the mount is metal. Superb image quality
This is a truly excellent lens. Used with the D800E it achieves extremely clean high quality images. It is used only in a studio and delivers as expected. Excellent construction and well balanced this is an outstanding product.
